I love the name Goodluck (as in Goodluck Jonathan, president of Nigeria). Not brave enough to use it though. Other than Innocent what other virtue names can you think of for men? I can think of loads for girls but not boys.

Clement?

jaffacakehips · 08/06/2012 20:06

Earnest,
Justice or
Victor.

yellowflowers · 08/06/2012 20:08

Clement is the obvious choice. There's also Felix too and, if you dare, Hilary but I suspect it's reserved exclusively for girls now. E(a)rnest is another strong choice. Victor might work too if it's the sort of virtue you're after.

Possibly...

Names that mean happy? Apparently Seeley and Asher fit the bill.

You're probably best off looking for names with virtuous meanings or using one like Goodluck as a middle name. Promise is my personal favourite name of this sort - I think it sounds gorgeous.

jaffacakehips · 08/06/2012 20:17

Our DD has a virtue name, we didn't pick it for this reason at all it's a family name.

I think Victor would be ace. What about Valiant?

Janoschi · 08/06/2012 22:27

Valiant is fab, especially with a really normal surname. Valiant Jones is just awesome.

Courage Smith... :-D

Some names which mean lucky

-Bonaventure
-Boniface
-Ennio
-Felix/Felice/Felicien
-Maddox
-Prospero

Apparently "Lucky" can be used as a name, or as a nickname for Luke and there is an Old English "Chauncey"

HandMadeTail · 09/06/2012 06:35

Hero is a girls name. (Hero and Lysander)

I know an adult Hero & a Prosper, both are men, actually both are tall dark & handsome, leather clad retro biker guys & both are very successful in their chosen creative fields - the names are not NN, but birth names that they somehow grew up into suiting perfectly :)

WifiNappies · 09/06/2012 09:18

madmouse · 09/06/2012 09:32
