What could you shorten the name Patience to? I'm not keen on Patty.

Is it not a bit of an oxymoron to name your child Patience but not have enough patience to use the full version?

squoosh · 08/06/2012 15:23

Was bit cheeky there. What about Patsy or umm, Payton?

There aren't that many obvious ones.

Ellypoo · 08/06/2012 15:39

Hahaha, I hadn't thought of that!

Hmm, not sure about Patsy - just makes me think of AbFab!!!

We had a Constance which we shortened to Nancy, which was quite common 'back in the day'! so I was hoping for a similar sort of derivative that perhaps isn't so obvious Hmm

Apparently Patia is the Latin diminutive for Patience.

Dunno. Pash? Not keen tbh.

Pasha? I like it.

Shanna? Paish?

FWIW I work with a Trinidadian lady named Patience. She's ace! We call her Paish (pay-shh)

Lunarlyte · 08/06/2012 18:11

I do like Pasha, though :)
