Hi everyone,

Seems like there's only one name myself and hubby can agree on - Charlotte! So now I'm trying to come up with a middle name...what do you all think of the following, do you have any favourites?

Charlotte Sophia
Charlotte Rose
Charlotte Josephine
Charlotte Louisa

if you have any other suggestions too that'd be a great help! Can't be Grace or Elizabeth though as they have already been used in our family

Thanks!

Something with one syllable - Anne, Amy, Eve, etc. if you have a long surname anything longer won't fit on forms

Charlotte is overused these days, she will be one of a dozen in her year. Are you that wed to it?

exoticfruits · 06/06/2012 22:19

Charlotte was but not now. I like any of your choices. Charlotte Rose first.

StepOutOfSpring · 06/06/2012 22:51

I think something starting with a vowel would flow nicely...

Charlotte Elisabeth
Charlotte Olivia
Charlotte Annabel
Charlotte Iona
Charlotte Isobel
Charlotte Emily

(sorry, you said no Elizabeth! doh)

Thanks for all your help.

I thought Charlotte was fairly common a few years ago but not all over the place anymore...

Alice

I like:

Charlotte Olivia
Charlotte Amelie (Particularly nice if you have a one syllable surname e.g. Smith)
Charlotte Ivy
Charlotte Vivien

Something with a vowel as the first letter works well after the "t" sound at the end of Charlotte.

Amy was my first thought. Elin/Elinor are good suggestions too.

Charlotte is fairly common but it's a classic name so there will always be a few of them. I wouldn't let it put you off.

I do think a vowel middle name that is short sounds best.
Out of yours though I like Charlotte Rose.
Agree with others about Elin/Ellen/Elinor. Also like Ivy.

I also know one who has Elise as her middle name. Also know a Charlotte Rae.

minipie · 07/06/2012 12:13

Ooh, Charlotte Elise is lovely.

SoupDragon · 07/06/2012 12:16

There is a Charlotte Emily in my family tree which I've always liked the sound of.

BlondeBluebird · 07/06/2012 12:18

My sister is "Charlotte Lucy"

MsOliveOyl · 07/06/2012 13:20

Charlotte Louise

I am a Charlotte Rose. I never used to like it when I was younger. It does flow well though. Currently debating whether to use Rose as a middle name for my DD but its a bit, um, boring. I'm thinking of something a bit more funky to go with a traditional first name.
Definitely agree with a 1 or 2 syllable name. I do like Charlotte Elise.
