Found out we are expecting a boy, and have started to seriously think about names! We seem to have a preference for biblical names! We are not in the least bit religious however Blush

Already have a DS - Ethan. Surname will be the name of a theme park located in the south east... something park lol! If you get that one, well done!

Jonah Jacob (nickname JJ)
Jacob Dexter
Jacob Isaac
Jacob Zachary
Elijah Jacob

I prefer Jonah, DP Jacob, but I love Jacob too. So...um. What do others think?! The only thing that puts me off Jacob as a first name is that 1) Twilight (we love Twilight but don't want people to think we called him Jacob for that reason!) and 2) it's the most popular US boys name.

I don't lkke either of those names :( We don't like any of the other biblical names. We have searched and searched and searched lol!

Going to google and see how popular Jacob is now!

Jonah is a lovely name, I know one and he's a cool dude :)

Fwiw I know about 5 Elijahs and NONE get called Eli.

TheDetective · 22/05/2012 00:45

Eli as a nickname is ok, but I wouldn't use it for a given name. I wouldn't call him it, but if his friends did, that would be fine!

I have a 9 year old Elijah, he gets called Eli by pretty much everyone except me (and I call him Bumble Bee!)
Elijah is my favourite, then Jonah. Jacob is popular according to the stats, but actually, I only know 2, and one goes by Jake.
If you have an Ethan, I wouldn't use Elijah
Ethan and Jonah sound fab together, so I pick Jonah but with mn Zachary and not wild on 'JJ' as a nn.

Psammead · 22/05/2012 08:10

Jonah Jacob!

MardyBra · 22/05/2012 08:12

Is the surname Legoland?

MardyBra · 22/05/2012 08:13

I like Jonah best btw

Psammead · 22/05/2012 08:17

Grin Legoland.

I assume it's the one that starts with Th.

TinkerMaloo · 22/05/2012 08:31

go with jonah! jacob is nice too but there will be 3 in each class...

YouFloatLikeAFeather · 22/05/2012 08:40

All are very nice, but Jonah is my favourite.

MardyBra · 22/05/2012 17:05

Jonah World of Adventures works well imo.

MoonHare · 22/05/2012 17:50

Prefer Jonah to Jacob and not keen on the other middle names you have to go with Jacob. JJ is cute on a little one and he doesn't have to keep calling himself that into adulthood.

Lunarlyte · 22/05/2012 18:03

I like Jacob Isaac. Too many 'J' sounds close together with Elijah Jacob: I think Jacob Elijah sounds better :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/05/2012 20:53

Like Jacob and Elijah but not together. Hate JJ, sorry.

CaptainHetty · 22/05/2012 20:56

Jacob can't be that popular, unless it's regional. I have three children, one in school, one in nursery and one attending various toddler groups and I've not met one child with the name, let alone several of the same age. If you like it, you should use it :)

I like Jacob Isaac, as well :o

BreakingBad · 22/05/2012 22:09

I like Jacob, Isaac and Elijah very much in any combo.

Jonah not so much.

I do know many Jacobs and Jakes, and a fair few Isaacs.

youarekidding · 22/05/2012 22:20

I like Zackery but as a first name.

Ethan and Zackery, Ethan and Zack (if you'd use that as nn)

Zackery Issac or Zackery Jacob

I do like Jacob and Jonah (and Jacob was a name on my list for DS - and I like Jake as nn) but have realised I love Zackery.

youarekidding · 22/05/2012 22:21

But of course feel free to spell Zackery your way not the way I have. Grin

Whoops!!!

winkle2 · 22/05/2012 23:23

I love JJ as a nickname :)

I'd go for Jonah over Jacob as its less popular.
