Ok, yet another name thread from me. Will we ever decide?!

We have 2 ds's, Dylan and Miles

Surname starts with a D, 3 syllables..

We are now considering Lucas Morgan

Opinions please Smile

Lucas is lovely.

Not keen on Morgan unless it's a family name.

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 00:46

Thanks!
No, Morgan isn't a family name, just like it. Makes me think of Morgan FreemanSmile

Lucas is immeasurably better than Travis. It is quite popular at the moment, if that bothers you.

lisaro · 21/05/2012 02:45

Lucas is lovely. Morgan reeks of chav. Just wrong. Hth.

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 08:33

sodoff Yeah, I noticed Lucas was quite popular.. It seems to be about as popular as Dylan.. I'd rather it was less so but I do like the name..

lis Why does Morgan say chav to you? Is it the women's clothes shop?

As I was drifting to sleep last night I also quite liked the sound of Lucas Oscar.. I aware Oscar is quite popular too thoughHmm

I told dh about my Lucas Oscar idea..

He quite likes Oscar Lucas also..

I love the name Lucas...yes it's popular but so are many other names.

Kveta · 21/05/2012 10:11

LOVE Oskar, but with your surname, initials would be OLD :o

Lucas Oskar is great :) (if you could fit a name beginning with R in too, he could be LORD :o)

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 10:19

Lol at him being OLD!Grin Hadn't even thought of that yet!

Hmm, will have to have a think about that! Not sure how much it matters. Dylan is DMD (we like to think it stands for danger mouseGrin). Miles is MED..

Positiveplus · 21/05/2012 12:37

Like Oscar and Lucas - though not keen on Morgan.

Not sure Oscar and Lucas go together though - too much 'Osc' 'Cas' if you know what I mean?!
Think both are pretty popular too.
What about just Luke or Luca?

Or completely randomly other names that I thought of when I say Dylan and Miles - Owen, Charlie, Tate, Joel, Alex, Caleb, Gabriel, Harris?

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 12:39

Not keen on Luke or Luca, think its just Lucas I like..

Harris is cool as we like Harrison but therefore I feel as though Harris has been cut short when I say it!

Agree with you DairyNips on Luke and Luca, I never liked them either. Always preferred Lucas...

Not sure on the Morgan, but it's your baby and your choice. :)

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 12:44

Thanks love

It's getting confusing now

We have:
Lucas Morgan
Lucas Oscar
Oscar Lucas

Confused

I know, I didn't really want a super popular name but it just seems the ones we like areConfused

Hmm not really keen on Lucian..

OP posts:
Kveta · 21/05/2012 13:08

Dairy they are all nice options - why not wait until he's here, and see which seems right?

And sod how popular it is, go with something you like! it's never going to be as common popular as my DC's names anyway :o

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 13:10

kveta that is good advice. I'm just a bit worried that in the post birth hormonal haze I'll choose something crazyGrin

I'd like to maybe have 2 options and see what fits. Hmm

OP posts:
Kveta · 21/05/2012 13:13

what about

William Morgan (WMD)?

it will fit him well in about 2 years time :o

I wish we could sort out cool initials for DC2, she will be EEJK, which is crap. Or maybe just EEK if we hyphenate the middle names.

I am not here btw

lovechoc · 21/05/2012 14:37

Lucian not a great choice, it's a trying-too-hard type of name. Lucas is fab!

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 18:56

kveta I do think William is a lovely name but its too 'normal' iyswimSmile

OP posts:
Kveta · 21/05/2012 19:09

I was meaning more for the initials WMD, just being silly :o

good luck deciding, I loved choosing names and then DH sneering at them all, so am glad we've picked one now. 2 weeks until d day now - so you'll be meeting your wee boy within the month - exciting!!

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 21:58

Grin ah I see!

Yep, very exciting!!Smile

LoganMummy · 21/05/2012 22:09

I love Lucas and Oscar!

PS they are the names of Michael McIntyre's two boys - quite posh!

Thetokengirl · 21/05/2012 22:14

I have a Lucas Henry. I love the name Grin
I don't think it's that common but I do have a Thomas, so anything feels rare after that name

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 22:17

Logan we have always liked Oscar ever since ds1 but some people said it was a dogs name which put is off. Yeah, we went to see Michael McIntyre last night and he mentioned the names, that's what got us thinking about them!

Grin I'm not like a crazy superfan trying to name my boy after his or anything though! It just reminded us we had always liked Oscar and got us considering Lucas too..
