What could be some bad nicknames for this name? I know i'm being negative! :(

Mine has never had any. And it's so common now that it is unlikely to be playground fodder.... Assuming no early puberty (ruby booby)

I think always of the rhyming slang.

Why? Ok, how about rude ruby, ruby boobie, kids can be pretty imaginative with almost all names.

I wouldn't worry about bad nicknames as any name can be teased. Imo teasing is mainly about a person's character rather than his/her name. I would, however, worry about Ruby's popularity - wasn't it THE most popular girls name in the past 2-3 years?

There are loads of Rubys round here.

I once saw a movie called 'Ruby and Quentin' where Ruby was a boy so don't know if it is a male name in France?

I think Ruby is a really pretty name. Most names can be made into a daft nickname. But don't think Ruby is going to attract one any more than any other name. I also like the name Pearl.

Mine is called booby by her classmates she isn't bothered.
I wish we hadn't called her this, to be fair she was born out of this country and I had no way of knowing how popular it would become.

My point kids will call you anything. i wouldnt even be thinking about that. Ruby is a beautiful and common. name. relax!

You can only preempt a tiny amount of potential nicknames.

Ruby is so ultra popular at the moment that it's unlikely to elicit any nicknames that you wouldn't have already thought of.

Now if she has bandy legs, ginger hair . . . . . .
