Errrrrr no. It's not really a name is it.

lisaro · 12/05/2012 22:29

What a ridiculous idea.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/05/2012 22:32

Middle name Mag?

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 12/05/2012 22:40

a boy dog? I've known a couple of dogs called Jazz. It's also ok for a hamster, rabbit, guniea pig, cat or horse. It's too cool for a goldfish.

yellowflowers · 12/05/2012 22:43

Short for Jasper?

(pml at middle name Mag)

PercyFilth · 12/05/2012 23:31

I know a Jared and we often call him Jazz.

abbypumpkin · 13/05/2012 22:13

People will find it unusual as as seen above some will think it's too much however there are lots of names around that we're Thought of similarly when first used. I personally find some current names quite ridiculous. What really matters is what you think of it. If you love a name use it and don't think about anyone else. I imagine his peers would probably think hs name was cool

jaffacakehips · 14/05/2012 01:39

I know a James called Jazz. However this is due to her sister was unable to say James when she was little..so it become Jazz. Grin

DeadRisingPies · 14/05/2012 01:49

I used to think that GiffGaff must have been the 'babyname' of its founder (Gavin somebody) - but it isn't.

"If you love a name use it and don't think about anyone else."

I think you should think about the child at least. It's a cute nn for James, Jasper or Jared etc, but as a full name it really does sound a bit silly. I'm also imagining Jazz hands teasing at school.

Would be hard to take someone seriously who is called Jazz.

telsa · 14/05/2012 11:59

No - what about Django instead.

DottieRose · 14/05/2012 12:38

I think jazz is super cute but as a nn so Jasper seems to be the best way around this and you can still call him jazz from day one
