Elliot. Of course I'm biased, its my family surname

squoosh · 09/05/2012 16:34

Aidan not Aiden.

WithACherryOnTop · 09/05/2012 16:44

Definitely Aiden.Elliot isn't at all nice.

cheapandchic · 09/05/2012 16:45

elliot.too many aidens around here!

BunnyLebowski · 09/05/2012 16:45

Definitely Aidan (note the spelling).

Elliot is a rather wet name imo.

ImNotJustMum · 09/05/2012 16:46

Definitely Elliot, aiden is VERY neddy (or chavy if you'd prefer)

badtime · 09/05/2012 16:57

Aiden, I would say, is borderline acceptable (better than Aydon or whatever), but Aidan is better (and Aedan, the medieval spelling, is okay too I think).

Elliot sounds American, which is fine if you want that.

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 09/05/2012 16:57

I prefer Elliot

ABatInBunkFive · 09/05/2012 17:02

Aidan not Aiden - I wasn't aware that either were neddy or chavvy. It's not exactly Levi is it.

Elliot over Aiden with an E though.

MadameMessy · 09/05/2012 17:13

Aidan definitely.
Elliot reminds me of the little boy in ET

ImNotJustMum · 09/05/2012 17:18

It's the new Levi, and Keira is the new senga :o well here it is anyway.

squoosh · 09/05/2012 17:20

Elliott reminds me of this

LST · 09/05/2012 17:28

Elliot defiantly. DP liked Aidan and I really didn't like it hated it sorry.

LST · 09/05/2012 17:29

aiden

DottieRose · 09/05/2012 17:31

Elliot without a doubt Aiden is awful

MadameChinLegs · 09/05/2012 17:32

I like Aidan, but I prefer Elliott.

However, with Elliott, I prefer it as a girl's name.

squoosh · 09/05/2012 17:33

Poor old Aidan, it managed fine for many a hundred of years and now its chavvy and awful.

ABatInBunkFive · 09/05/2012 17:37

I know of a Female Aidan too.

If for a girl i think i prefer Elliott.

I still don't believe Aidan is chavvy for a start it would have to be spely Ayedon or something no? Wink

BunnyLebowski · 09/05/2012 17:37

I know squoosh. It's a beautiful name with great history and meaning. A fab name for a wee boy and an adult. The name of my Dad and brother a many other acquaintances back home in Ireland.

And now because of it's overuse in another country it's considered chavvy. Bizarre.

Will never be chavvy to me Smile

squoosh · 09/05/2012 17:41

Me either Bunny, bit weird how it's gone stratospheric popularity wise. Two of my American cousins have Aidans.

It's the name of the first boy I fancied. He used to do bunny hops on his BMX. (swoons retrospectively).

lagoonhaze · 09/05/2012 17:42

Aidan(note the spelling!)

Never knew it was chavvy

ibuyjaffacakesnow · 09/05/2012 17:47

what is neddy? Do the letters stand for anything?

ABatInBunkFive · 09/05/2012 17:50

A ned is pretty much a Scottish Chav.

RugbyWidow7 · 09/05/2012 17:56

Don't like Elliott at all.
My brother is Aidan and he's always liked his name. I love it as a name.

ElliottsMummy · 09/05/2012 17:58

I prefer Elliott - more than a bit biased tho...

I also have a nephew called Ayden so I think both are nice.
sorry, that wasnt very helpful was it! Smile
