Hi all.

Ingi is a family name, hubby is half Icelandic and it is his middle name. Do you think it would work over here?

Others on our shortlist now are Remy, Otto, Ezra or Lucian. 4 weeks to go!

Thanks x

Ingi like a thingy?

Not sure it would work.

Could you opt for Inigo with Ingi as a nn?

Otto and Remy are good.

welovesausagedogs · 07/05/2012 21:37

I would go for Otto or Lucian

Sophiesmummie · 07/05/2012 21:54

How about Ignatius, nickname Ingi? Or Inigo?

ivanapoo · 07/05/2012 22:20

Ingo?

Janoschi · 08/05/2012 02:26

If Ingi is Icelandic and means something to you, then I'd go with Ingi and not adapt it. Much as I like Ingo (twas on my list), you'd be swapping one foreign name for another one, only it'd be one without the meaning.

Or Otto / Lucian. Otto was on my list too, as I love Odo as a nn!

Agree with Janoschi - Ingi has cultural and personal meaning to you and is easy enough to pronounce/spell in the UK, so I'd go for that as first name.

I also like Lucian and Remy very much. Don't like Otto at all, I'm afraid.

I think this name seems like meaningless ,You should try a name with at least some meaning.

squoosh · 08/05/2012 12:01

It sounds a bit adenoidy

ipanicked · 08/05/2012 19:50

Ingi is a really lovely name, easy to pronounce in the UK and has real meaning for your family. Go for it!

AThingInYourLife · 08/05/2012 19:52

I think it would work fine :)

BBQJuly · 08/05/2012 20:15

It sounds a nice name, but I think there could be pronounciation issues here. People might ask if it's Ing-ee, In-gee or In-jee?

Ezra and Lucian are both nice; not keen on Remy or Otto.

Love lucian

Goldenbear · 08/05/2012 21:02

I like Ezra, this was in our top 5 for boys.
