Any Devon's here?

hi thinking of naming DD2 Devon, any other mumsnetters with a DC by this name and what are people's reactions?

My friend's son is Devon, I really like it :)

It's quite American I think and unisex there. It's a perfectly fine name as long as you don't live there!

The only Devons I know of are boys.

Bit naff for a 1st name imo but q nice tucked away as a middle name!

It would have been dgd's name if she had been a boy! The only celeb I can think of is Devon malcolm the cricketer.

I know a girl Devon. If you like the name then go for it. It's unusual but she won't have to spell it out all the time.

I've known a few Devons and Devins, some girls and some boys. My younger sister is a Devon, but has gone through a lot of nicknames as she doesn't like it much. She often got put down as a boy at school, or having calls to the teacher that 'his' mother was there.

I know several female Devan's (I'm Canadian, if that makes a difference) and all have the 'a' spelling.

I know a Devon - he's 8 and his name suits him!

I only know boys with this name.

My 2 year old nephew is Devon.

A friend had a teenage niece called Devyn.

Devon is a pressed meat here, so I would find it hard to get past that. Kind of like calling a child Mortadella.

I know a Devon and a Devin - both boys.
