Charlie or Danny Trayne?

Charlie or Danny with the surname Trayne? On paper it will be Daniel or Charles but we like the nickname versions. Any other suggestions with this surname?

Not keen on Danny though really like Daniel.
Opposite is true for me for Charles (dont like) / Charlie (ok)

Like Danny, hate Daniel (Daniel the Spaniel). Daniel is drippy, Danny is 'the cool boy in school'.

Charlie s'ok but a bit common these days. Common as in overly popular.
