I have noticed there is more and more of a trend to name pets human names and often on here have seen people be told "thats a dog name"

We are looking into having goldfish and the kids have already named the " as yet non existent in our house" fish

1 is called " Dont know yet" the other " Just staying here until I get my own place"

and they wonder why I am being slow getting the fish..Hmm

We had a gerbil called Trevor. It suited him.

We name our pets after Harry Potter characters. Thats how we roll.

We have three cats called Bella, Tonks and Oliver (our surname is Wood, so the last one is actually the best of them all really.)

We also have a hamster called Lily.

Our dog is Brodie, which although a human name isn't a popular one. However if I met a Brodie I would just think of my dog!

Our cat was Alfie. We sadly had to have him ptsast year aged 16.

We are hoping to get a dog this year which ds wants to call Nut. Can't wait to shout that in the park!

And in a year or so I'm considering getting a Jack Russell and calling him Ken. Did you see what I did there? Grin

I have two cats: Rex and Phoebe.

If I were to have two goldfish (am I right in thinking that is what you are getting?) Id name them Frank and Brian

MabliD · 25/04/2012 20:38

Our cats were/are Eira and Mabli - I now know babies called both of these which is slightly weird. I do try not to go 'That's my cat's name!' as it puts peoples backs up a bit. (Other cat is Merlyn - have not met a baby one of those yet)

Our last goldfish was called Jeff.

I used to have a rabbit called Simon and a cat called Wayne
