After much heated debate we managed to reach first name consensus for dc4.

Ralph or Hugo
Poppy or Talia

The most important thing for me is flow of all 3 names and that the sibling names feel like a group. These do the latter but I an drawing short on middle names to flow with one syllable surname similar to Doors.

So....

Ralph Brennan
Ralph Dominic
Ralph Sebastian
Ralph William

Poppy Evelyn
Poppy Alexandra
Talia Beatrice
Talia Evelyn

Any thoughts esp for middle names?

LOVE both Ralph & Hugo.

Think Ralph goes nicely with the middle names you've chosen.

Hugo Emmett Moors
Hugo Charles Moors
Hugo Frederick Moors
Hugo Ernest Moors
Ralph Wilfred Moors
Ralph Edwin Moors

Personally I strongly dislike Poppy: too cutesy, seeing a surge in popularity (I know three under four years) & IMO not strong enough for a professional women. If used I would definitely team it with a longer fairly traditional middle name.

Poppy Helena
Poppy Louise
Poppy Elizabeth

Talia is lovely & particularly like Talia Beatrice.

Talia Rosalind
Talia Juliet/Juliette
Talia Vivienne
Talia Annabel

Love Talia and I also particularly like Talia Beatrice. Beatrice is quite a literary name, because of Dante, and something about the name Talia sounds like it should be paired with a nice, dignified, graceful literary name so a Shakespearean one like Juliet, Rosalind, Beatrice (also in Shakespeare) are all very nice.

Think Ralph is nice too, particularly Ralph William

Prefer Ralph to Hugo (Hugo conjours up images of somone balding, fat and sweaty for some reason). Of the middle names I like Ralph Sebastian and Ralph William.

Prefer Talia to Poppy, it's much more elegant and as someone else has said will carry your DD through into adulthood. Talia while sounding pretty it is a strong name and has much more gravitas than the cutsie Poppy. Beatrice and Evelyn would both make lovely middle names, for me Evelyn just pips Beatrice to the post.

Prefer Hugo to Ralph.
Prefer Poppy to Talia, although both nice.

Poppy Alexandra Doors
Poppy Julianna Doors
Poppy Melissa Doors

Hugo William Doors
Hugo Sebastian Doors
Hugo Alexander Doors

Talia Beatrice Doors
Talia Georgina Doors
Talia Susannah Doors

Ralph Henry Doors
Ralph Benjamin Doors
Ralph Jonathan Doors

Not keen on your girls names, sorry. Poppy is fluffy and cutesy wootesy. Prefer Thalia to Talia, but even so, it is one of those names that is everhwere.

Ralph is nice. Hugo not.

I like Ralph William best.

Talia Alexandra if had to choose from girls names.

FondleWithCare · 24/04/2012 18:50

Ralph William and Talia Evelyn would be my choices.

Please, not Ralph. To many women of my age (early 30s) it is the name of the penis in Judy Blume's Forever book.

Hugo is lovely though.

I prefer Talia to Poppy, more unusual and more elegant for an adult.

So I'd pick...

Hugo Dominic
Hugo William
Hugo Sebastian

Talia Beatrice
Talia Evelyn

I love Evelyn and Alexandra but think you ideally want something beginning with a consonant so it doesn't flow into the A at the end of Talia. Not really a major issue though. Other middle name suggestions for Talia:

Talia Madeleine
Talia Rosalind
Talia Isobel
Talia Jessamyn
Talia Cecily

mayanna123 · 24/04/2012 22:26

I really like Ralph and Talia.

Ralph William

and

Talia Cecily

would be my choices - lovely!

HoldTouchEngage · 24/04/2012 22:31

Ralphs ok, BUT i actually adore your middle names

Sebastien
Dominic
William

I am not keen on Talia - but that may be that i've never come across one, Poppy is very cutesy but i 'quite like it'

Although i prefer some 'suggested names' such as

Madelaine
Beatrice
Vivienne
Georgina
Annabel
Violet

How about

Susannah
Martha
Eleanor ?
