Love Sophie, not so keen on Sophia. I only know one young Sophie though two young Sophias - I know it's very high on baby name lists but do you know lots? There are none at DD's nursery of 30 kids.

I know one Sophie who is just about to turn 1. I love the name too.

I know 3 Sophias. Like that name less.

SkipTheLightFanjango · 22/04/2012 22:22

I don't know any Sophie's here. Love the name, almost used it for my youngest.

SandStorm · 22/04/2012 22:24

I know 4 or 5 but I still love the name.

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 22/04/2012 22:25

I know 2 and there is another 2 in Ds class

AliceInordnung · 22/04/2012 22:26

I know two 14 yr old Sophies and one 14 yr old Sophia. I think it's such a classic it won't be tied to any particular generation.

iloveACK · 22/04/2012 22:41

I love the name & know 3 (ages 3 & 5).

mayanna123 · 22/04/2012 22:45

I know several Sophie's aged 10 and under.

FondleWithCare · 22/04/2012 22:56

I know 2, both in their 20's.

toobreathless · 23/04/2012 00:35

I know four:

Two adults in late twenties.
One aged 2.
One aged 5.

AberdeenAngusina · 23/04/2012 08:34

I know 4; one aged 20, one aged 14, one aged 10, one aged 2. I don't know any Sophias. It's a great name, go for it.

Incidentally, two of the four Sophies I know have sisters named Amy, and a third has a cousin Amy.

BretstheBoomKing · 23/04/2012 09:55

Very freaky AberdeenAngusina Shock I am a Sophie, and my sister is an Amy . They must just go together. Love Sophie btw, it's a great name to have.

whenskiesaregrey · 23/04/2012 10:10

Ooh spooky, we are going for Sophia, and my name is Amy!

TwllBach · 23/04/2012 10:14

I like the name Sophie a lot, it is all soft and feminine without being overly girly

HipHopOpotomus · 23/04/2012 10:15

Every 2nd girlchild I meet these days seems to be called Sophie, Sophia or Amy! They are lovely and popular names

babyblabber · 23/04/2012 10:56

weird, my cousins are sophie and amy and i know another sophie and amy siblings set now that i think of it!

i have always loved the name sophie, since i was a kid i always wanted to call a daughter sophie. DH prefers sophia and sophie has been top 5 here in ireland for about 10 years so for that reason we decided on sophia for a girl's name and i have now come to prefer it!

squoosh · 23/04/2012 10:58

Has there been a law passed that says every other girl needs to be called Sophie?

I mean it's a nice name, but it's a tad dull. Sorry.

MagsAloof · 23/04/2012 12:35

I know four adult Sophies (20-35 yrs old), and two teenage Sophies. I only know of one little Sophie, of about 8 yrs old. It is a sweet name, and popular, but obviously not as zeitgeisty as it was 15 or so years ago, when it was the Olivia/Isabel.

Clawdy · 23/04/2012 14:38

Several Sophies at our local primary, mainly over sevens.

Voidka · 23/04/2012 14:44

It was my number 1 choice for my DD, but a friend called her DD Sophie 3 months before I had her and so I changed.

I really like it - I think its very pretty.

kerala · 23/04/2012 18:45

Four Sophies at DDs pre school. There are hundreds personally that would put me right off. My friend that named her daughter Sophie now regrets it - they have to use her middle name as a double barrelled name to differentiate her from all the other Sophies. There are lots of nice names out there never understand why everyone seems to pick the same 10!
