I like it, it makes me think of Carrie Fisher (princess Lia) and Carrie from Sex and the City. But I'm curious to what other people think. I never see it mentioned on MN.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IHeartKingThistle · 20/04/2012 16:44

You're right, I've never seen it on here - weird actually. I think it's pretty.

Do you mean as short for Caroline?

PersonalClown · 20/04/2012 16:46

I think Stephen King/Sissy Spasek (sp?) and buckets of blood!

Clawdy · 20/04/2012 16:55

Me too...a bit spooky.

needtogetalife · 20/04/2012 16:56

I too think of Stephen Kings Carrie

OhThisIsJustGrape · 20/04/2012 17:06

I know three People called Carrie. One is just Carrie, one is Carolyn and the other is Caroline and Carrie is a shortened nn.

I really like the name, I've only come across those 3 so it's not over used either :)

squoosh · 20/04/2012 17:26

I love it.

It's ssssassy.

Siddhartha · 20/04/2012 17:29

still = stephen king's carrie to me, sorry

AberdeenAgnes · 20/04/2012 17:30

I have one! I love it

Abcinthia · 20/04/2012 19:18

Makes me think of Stephen King and the children's book Carrie's War

But I do like it. I've never come across someone with the name Carrie before.

gafhyb · 20/04/2012 19:20

I like it a lot

ninah · 20/04/2012 19:22

I like it.

BelleTheBeatnik · 20/04/2012 20:07

Ooh, I like it. A lot.

Are you thinking of using as a NN? I think it's actually quite nice on its own, but if you are...

Caroline
Catherine
Carietta
Carrissa

MarySA · 20/04/2012 20:12

I would always think of that dreadful Stephen King novel so not keen on the name at all.

BBQJuly · 20/04/2012 20:16

It's OK, although I prefer Cassie.

And I don't really warm to Carrie from SATC.

1950sHousewife · 20/04/2012 20:20

I loved it, it was my DD's name for 6 months in't womb. But someone kept singing that Cliff Richard song at me and it put me off.
Glad I didn't give it to her now but it's still a nice name. agree, prefer Cassie.

Chesticles · 20/04/2012 21:16

It's my niece's name. It's just Carrie, not short for anything. Though Dsis has been asked if it is spelt Kari! I really like it. I just hadn't seen it mentioned in many threads though and wondered what people generally thought of it.

I'm another one thinking of buckets of blood. And I also think it about time for a remake.

beautifulwho · 21/04/2012 05:59

I prefer Kari, I think carrie reminds me of horror movies, even though it's my gran-IL name? Confused

SunflowersSmile · 21/04/2012 06:50

I think 'Little house on the prairie' and baby Carrie.
Nicer than horror movies!

EllenParsons · 21/04/2012 21:32

I think it's quite nice and definitely works on its own, not just as a nickname for Caroline. True that it is a name people often don't think of, but not weird or unheard of. One of the main characters on Homeland is Carrie and I did think "nice name!"
