What do you think of this combo?

Both names are very nice, however with them both ending in 'a', it doesnt seem to 'flow', but that's just my opinion

Stellan · 19/04/2012 16:04

By itself, it doesn't work.

But it depends on your surname. Rosa Theodora Brown or Rosa Theodora Smith, for example, sound fine. Rosa Theodora Palmer or Rosa Theodora Foster, on the other hand, don't work.

Rose Theodora sounds better by itself.

Stellan · 19/04/2012 16:05

Just a thought - Rosa Dorothea works a bit better, as does Rosa Dorothy.

BBQJuly · 19/04/2012 16:37

Reminds me of Dora the Explorer.

gazzalw · 19/04/2012 16:38

think Theodora Rose sounds nicer!

MagsAloof · 19/04/2012 18:28

No! The world doesnt need any more girls with the middle name Rose!

I like Rosa Theodora, but agree with the pp who said it wouldnt go with a name ending in a 'uh' sound.

toobreathless · 19/04/2012 18:34

Doesn't work for me personally, too similar with the repeated 'a'.

some suggestions I like:

Rose Theodora
Theodora Rose
Rosa Dorothy
Rose Isadora
Rosa Isolde
Rose Imelda
Rosa Isobel
Rosa Annabel

gazzalw · 19/04/2012 18:47

I'm not keen on Rosa TBQH - could be lovely could be naff.....

ragged · 19/04/2012 18:51

I don't warm to either name.

MitrochondrialEve · 19/04/2012 23:28

They're both lovely names. I like Rosa being a little different to the more usual Rose, and it's a lovely first name. Some people may assume her name is Rosie as it's quite popular just now, but it would be a pretty nn anyway.

I like Theodora, and I like it much better than Dorothea.

I agree with Stellan about the flow of how the names sound together along with your surname. However, most people don't use their middle names very often - just on forms etc.

Beachcombergirl · 19/09/2012 04:38

Gazzalw Are you Robbie?! :-)

margerykemp · 19/09/2012 05:49

or Ayda?

fruitpastille · 19/09/2012 06:22

I wanted Rosa for dd but couldn't convince dh. Not keen on Theodora and it is a bit rhymey. I was considering Elizabeth as a middle name, but not sure about the A running into the E.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/09/2012 06:37

This is a stealth "what do you think of Robbie's baby name" isn't it ? Grin

exoticfruits · 19/09/2012 06:38

I don't think they go together but then Rosa is difficult to find a second name for. It needs to be a longer one. Rosa Elizabeth would work.
Rosa Margaret
Rosa Catherine
Rosa Clementine

squoosh · 19/09/2012 10:42

Are you Robbie Williams?

steppemum · 19/09/2012 10:54

I love it. Go for it if you like it.

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 19/09/2012 11:05

Well given that the original post was 19 apr are you Ayda OP?????

exoticfruits · 19/09/2012 22:41
