dh and I can't agree on much, but we both like Amelia. Apart from Amy, what could we call her as a nn?
Thanks.

Millie

I agree with Cake; Millie is the common NN for Amelia.

sairygamp · 16/04/2012 16:22

Melly? Meelie?

goodasgold · 16/04/2012 16:22

Mimi

My bump (29+3) is an Amelia. I intend for her to be an Amy but she is already getting Melia, Lia, Moo from her big brothers. I think you'll just fall into a nn thats comfortable for your family.

Alligatorpie · 16/04/2012 16:35

Wow, you guys are fast! Thanks! I completely forgot about Millie, which I really like. But I also like Lia, we may be on to something!

Mia, leah?

Fwiw, I feel nicknames sort of manifest themselves and sort of choose themseles so id just go for whatever name you live and see what happens re: nicknames.

I went to school with an Amelia, but she was never called it by anyone including her parents, she was always called Milly.

festiemum · 16/04/2012 18:14

My dsd is Amelia, but is always known as Meli (mealy). :)

Vickikate · 16/04/2012 18:18

My DD (18 mths) is called Amelia and we shorten it to Millie, but she has just started trying to say her own name and it sounds like Mia, so I'm kind of wishing we called her that...perhaps we will in time.

OrangeCrushed · 16/04/2012 18:46
