shortlist down to anastasia, lara dh prefers elara or bit out there jocasta. Dd1 is saskia. We liked cassia but too close to dd1. Thought jocasta could be josie or cassie, if we can overlook incest issues. Anastasia would be called stasia (stay-sha).
She's 4 days old please help

No help at all but I like them all - not so much Jocasta but like Josie and cassie! Elara is unusual and pretty. Would go for ana as nn for anastasia though.

Think with Saskia I would go for Elara or Lara as all the others have too many s sounds when you say both together Smile

Saskia and Elara

Gorgeous Grin congratulations!

Lara is my favourite (short for Larissa)

Maiziemonkey · 09/04/2012 10:17

Don't worry, my son had a different name for the first day until we felt it was "not right " for him. Sometimes trying one out is the best way to see if you really like it.

WithACherryOnTop · 09/04/2012 10:23

Anastasia is my favourite.

FondleWithCare · 09/04/2012 11:24

I think Lara is the best and the least "matchy" with Saskia.

HettyKett · 09/04/2012 11:33

Lara works well. Very nice.

Jocasta is too similar to Saskia I think.

Thea & Saskia?

Montsti · 09/04/2012 11:51

I like Lara and the nns you mention for Jocasta (not so sure about the full name though and think Saskia & Jocasta are too similar). Anastasia is way too similar to Saskia particularly when shortened to Stasia....I know of a few Anastasias and all nns are Stacey which for me completely ruins the name and is horrible - sorry just my opinion...

Good luck and congrats - hope all going well!

NomenOmen · 09/04/2012 11:55

Dunno. Jocasta (suicide/son-shagger) and Anastasia (death by firing squad) are rather tragic names.

What about Allegra (Italian for cheerful and love-child of Lord Byron)?

bibbitybobbitybunny · 09/04/2012 11:56

Love Lara, beautiful name.

Like Clara even better [busmile].

calzone · 09/04/2012 11:57

What about Saskia and Clementine?

or

Saskia and Cassandra (Cassie)
Saskia and Beatrice
Saskia and Octavia
Saskia and Jasmin

NomenOmen · 09/04/2012 11:59

Thing is, with Lara, you have to hope that they get that it's Dr Zhivago which is your point of reference, rather than that you're enormous computer games fans.

Agree with bibbity that Clara is lovely.

Bloody Lara Croft. If only she had never been invented. It is almost my favourite girl's name, and yet all people can associate with is a bloody computer game!

PinkPolkaDots · 09/04/2012 12:03

Congratulations!
Lara and anastasia are beautiful!

bushymcbush · 09/04/2012 12:08

Also love Lara and Anastasia.

How about Carina?

Frikadellen · 09/04/2012 12:27

Congratulations and Oh Elara is just beautiful. I like Jocasta too personally I prefer Lara to Anastasia personally.

ClipboardAnnie · 09/04/2012 12:34

Congratulations and lovely names you're considering.
Anastasia is beautiful ...... yes I've got an Anastasia! She gets called Anna and the name has grown with her.
