DD has a Marley in her class. Never really given the name much thought before and ordinarily, it's probably not my sort of name but this boy is so lovely that it's created quite a positive association.

I like it and I don't normally like surnames as first names.

Marley's ghost springs to mind. I don't like it, and I would also assume that it was a girl.

AnnaFalactic · 03/04/2012 11:50

My DD is Marley so obviously I love the name! I wouldn't have used it for a boy, but I've heard of it being used as either boy/girl.

squoosh · 03/04/2012 11:51

Marley's ghost was a good fella in the end, trying to make sure Ebeneezer didn't go down the same road.

I thought Bob.

What about Marlowe?

IAmYourSingingTelegram · 03/04/2012 11:55

Love it.

happybigbump · 03/04/2012 21:32

Marley is great - cool, masculine and underused.

LesAnimaux · 03/04/2012 21:40

Not my cup of tea, but that might be because of the two Marleys I know.

LesAnimaux · 03/04/2012 21:41

(Both of whom are boys, but one of their mums would have used it for a girl)

welovesausagedogs · 03/04/2012 22:16

I really like it.

Badgerina · 04/04/2012 12:53

Yeah, quite like it. It's unusual. I knew a Harley at school. His parents were into motorbikes.

haha I was so annoyed when that film came out (after DD was born!) as everyone thought I'd got the name from that!
