Callie, nice as a nickname but short for...?

My dh loves short names like Callie for girls, and I do too, but I can't help but feel like it should be a nickname. But can anyone help me think of nice names that this would work for? My help hubby and I come to an agreement on a girls name at last!!! Any ideas? Thanks x

I know a Callie who is Calandra.

I love Calliope, very Grey's Anatomy.

I know of a Callia- Greek meaning beautiful voice apparently.

Just call her Callie! I worked with a girl called Cali once. I cant see the point in picking something you dont want to go on her birth cert when you arent ever going to use it anyway.

I have a Callia who we did consider calling Callie for short but we just kept it as Callia as it's such a pretty sound.

Calliope means beautiful voice
Callista means most beautiful
Calantha means beautiful flower
Callia means beautiful

TruthSweet, I had never heard of the name Callia before - how pretty! :)

It really suits her (if you ignore all the oozing eczema patches ) but I really wanted Calantha. However we decided with a Lilith and an Alethea, Calantha would sound odd so we went with Callia - glad we did!

Callie is my favourite (Cali is my least favourite because of the state association).

Cayley or at a push, maybe Cassandra or Camilla?

I love Callie as a name on it’s own though, I wouldn’t have a longer version unless you really want to!

Oooh Callia...never heard that before. It's totally gorgeous. Would it be ok to potentially pinch it if OH likes it? I almost want to wake him up but he'd throttle me!
