Something 'cutesy' but uncommon

I have always loved names like Daisy, Poppy, Molly, Lily, etc. However I want something slightly more unusual for our DD. Does anybody have any suggestions, please? Thanks.

Do you like Jemima?

MimiPost · 05/04/2012 22:58

Oops just seen it suggested above. Apart from the nickname Jemmy suggested there, there's also Mima as a nn which is similar to Molly, Lottie etc

Although I would say, don't give your baby daughter a 'cutesy' name. Give her a proper name.

mathanxiety · 05/04/2012 23:04

Don't know about cutesy, but how about Cleo, Leonie or Carmen?

manicinsomniac · 06/04/2012 00:21

By 'cutesy' so you mean with the 'ee' sound at the end?

All these are outside of the top 300 (I think):
Allie, Bessie, Betty, Billie, Brandy, Becky, Cassie, Callie, Carrie, Carly, Dulcie, Eilidh, Effy, Fanny (don't!), Ginny, Gerri, Halle, Hadley, Izzy, Julie, Jodie, Josie, Kiki, Kirsty, Keltie, Kristie, Kylie, Kerry, Kelly, Kezzie, Lindsey, Mattie, Minnie, Mindy, Minty, Misty, Macie, Mercy, Miley, Nikki, Penny, Polly, Peggy, Patsy, Pixie, Ryleigh, Romy, Sally, Saffy, Sandy, Tammy, Tansy, Vikki, Verity, Wendy

A lot of them aren't really standalone names though!

Margaret. Incredibly unusual, classic and beautiful. And loads of shortenings, cutesy and otherwise.

Meg is gorgeous. Imagine a baby Meg. And a toddler Meg.

Maggie or Daisy short for Marguerite (bit more exciting and girly than Margaret imo)

seeker · 06/04/2012 14:30

No- Margaret because it's not girly. Then hugely girly shortenings. Best if both worlds!
