A few months ago, I put our favourite boys names on here inc Hugo, Tobias, Oscar, Edward, Miles, and Hugo took the lead in your votes...I love the name Hugo. However there were a number of you who criticised the name saying it was pretentious and the like. If we had a Hugo, he wouldn't be born with a silver spoon in his mouth and wouldn't get a private education as some of you had an expectation associated with the name. However, I still love it...so does it matter? Fed up with going around in circles with this name and would appreciate your final verdict on the name. I have 5 weeks to go and need to get a name sorted. Many thanks.

If you love it, go for it.
I think it's lovely. If you don't use it you'll probably regret it :)

I do associate Hugo with the very posh, based on the adults I have met or heard of but think it is changing, more used by a wider spectrum now though not overused.
