Lily-something?

or possibly Something-Molly perhaps?

Along the lines of Lily-Beth, or Hannah-Molly.

Not May Rose or Grace though.

All ideas gratefully received! Smile

Lily-Alice
Lily-Kate

umm....look through the girls baby names books & write down the ones you like & just say it with the last name & see what it looks like written down. There are many ways to spell Lily too, my DD spells hers Lillie. Very awkward now i think of it because people spell it wrong. Dont blame them really!

Emmielu · 01/04/2012 15:27

I like Lily-Beth though

Newtothisstuff · 01/04/2012 15:32

My DD is a Lily just plain Lily her middle name is Grace tho.. I did toy with Lily-rose when she was born

welovesausagedogs · 01/04/2012 15:33

Lily-Mae
Lily-Rose
Lily-Anna or Liliana
Lily-Grace
Lily-Fay
Lily-Isla
Lily-Ella

My favourite is Lily-Mae

Showmethemhappyfeet · 01/04/2012 17:09

Oh please not Mai/Mae/may! I don't know what this new thing is shoving May on the end of a common name and thinking it makes it 'different' grrAngry
Sorry, pet hate!
If you thi k Lilly on its own is too common, pick something else. Lila is pretty!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 01/04/2012 17:16

Not keen on hyphenating and besides, the appeal of Lily (and indeed of lilies!) is its simplicity.

Liliana is a v.pretty name though; ds has a friend named that. I don't think there are many around - ds and his friend are 11 and I've not heard of any others.

nizlopi · 01/04/2012 17:17

Hate hyphenated names, they're so precious.

NoMoreInsomnia12 · 01/04/2012 17:21

I would avoid L names generally at the moment. At school it's all Lily, Lilly, Lila, Lyla, Lyra, Lola, Lucy...

Mayvis · 01/04/2012 17:24

Not a fan of hyphenated names either.

And Lily-Beth sounds like a toddler trying to say Elizabeth.

CupOfBrownJoy · 01/04/2012 17:28

Nothing. It would be twee.

CupOfBrownJoy · 01/04/2012 17:28

and Lily-Beth sounds like the speaker has a lisp

doctordwt · 01/04/2012 17:33

How about Lilith?

LesAnimaux · 01/04/2012 17:37

I really don't like hyphenated names, but Liliana (or choose your own spelling) is a really lovely name. Lily-Anna?

PosiePumblechook · 01/04/2012 17:52

Lily-Beth sounds like that awfully twee pottery.

sonniebonnie · 01/04/2012 18:08

I know a Mia-Lily, mostly called Mia. I like that.

nooka · 01/04/2012 19:36

I agree with everyone else, hyphenated names, unless perhaps you are French are truly very very naff.
If you want a fancier, less used name than Lily choose something else! Lilibeth/Lilibet are shortenings of Elizabeth btw.
Hannah-Molly is a bit clunky and quite odd sounding to me.

toobreathless · 01/04/2012 19:50

Detest hyphenated names generally.

BUT, love Lily-Joy, just popped into my mind.

welovesausagedogs · 01/04/2012 19:51

What about Honey-Lily
Or Honey-Lillie

Don't you think it sounds lovely

Bunbaker · 01/04/2012 19:52

Please don't give her a hyphenated name - they are very cheesy and I'm, afraid round here, considered rather chavvy.

Janoschi · 01/04/2012 20:06

Lily-Louise
Lily-Teresa
Lily-Sue
Lily-Faith
Lily-Belle

Molly-May
Molly-Joy
Molly-Jane
Molly-Anna
Molly-Sue

Can't think of anything that works with Molly at the end...

Sorry!

Prunella79 · 01/04/2012 21:19

I always thought Lily-Celeste would be charming

mathanxiety · 01/04/2012 21:38

Lily-Fay
Lily-Marie
Lily-Noelle
Lily-Camille
Lily-Claire
Lily-Brooke
Lily-Belle
Lily-Cerise
Lily-Chantal
Lily-Michelle
Lily-Soleil
Lily-Estelle
Lily-Simone
Lily-Elise

exoticfruits · 01/04/2012 21:56

Don't hyphenate-she will drop it anyway as soon as she gets to school.

DeepThought · 01/04/2012 22:58

Julie-Lily

Like Edward Woodward

cakeismysaviour · 01/04/2012 23:04

For the love of god, don't do it!

If you want to be unusual, but like the name Lily, what about Lillith, Liliana or Lillian? You could then use Lily as the shortened version.
