So, now we know we're having a boy, and the surname kerfuffle has been sorted out (to a degree), We've semi- decided on a name.

The name, as it is so far will be: Nathaniel _ Keddie-Sallabank (Nate for short)

now, we just need (and want) a surname.

Names we liked before were;

Lucian (but not right for a child we decided)
Kai
Brandon
Ezra

Ruled out names we really will not take;
Andrew
Matthew
David
Alan
Kelvin
Albert
Paul
Brian
Donald
Brad
(you get the idea)

Any suggestions? :)

Ezra, without a doubt. I don't like Kai at all, nor Brandon.

Nathaniel is a beautiful name and Ezra is unusual yet short and sweet.

GwenGotLost · 28/03/2012 19:00

:) Thanks

We ruled out Kai (and anything else starting with a K sound) due to the surname; we like slightly odd, but not too far-out there "my-child-is-called-FloweroftheEarth-Apple" names; slightly oldie ones too. We're in Wales and DP is Welsh so we do also like Celtic / Gaelic sounding names.

Suggestions are very much welcome...

I like kai

You're welcome to it :o

Any suggestions? DP not keen on Ezra :(

If you're looking for something Welsh how about:

Nathaniel Owain
Nathaniel Lloyd
Nathaniel Geraint
Nathaniel Berwin
Nathaniel Elfred

for starters!

Nathaniel Keddie-Sallabank.

Now that is an ace name. He'll be a lovable cad, women the length and breadth of the country will swoon in his wake. He'll ride a horse, have jet black hair, gamble till the early morn and ravish lots of milkmaids.

Tristan
George
Benedict
Austin
Mathias
Felix
Sebastian
Theodore
Cassius
Solomon
Emlyn
Jett
Aubrey
Clement
Zane
Seth
Charles
Stefan
Morgan
Eric
Aidan
Gabriel
Zachary
Caspar
Micah
Edwin
Jerome
Frederick
Miles

squoosh :o we'll be so proud

I do like Edwin... see what DP says...

We have to be aware of the initials... upon hearing our choice for the surnames my "dear father" declared we must call him William Albert Nicolas Keddie-Sallabank.... WANKS... Thanks Dad... Hmm

Oh more drama...

Dad declared that He'd like us to use Albert as a middle name.. apparently it's a passed down name ( I don't have it but one of my Middle names is his Grandmother's) Problem being; we really really dislike Albert as a name....

DP also pulled out Samuel as a middle name and was shocked at my knee-jerk reaction of "hell no" Nathaniel Samuel.... AIBU to NOT want a name that rhymes? Hmm

YANBU. Your child. You name him. I love Nathaniel Lloyd from the list above.
And it is a gorgeous set of names all round.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2012 20:01

Nathaniel Samuel is bonkers!

I think it needs a short middle name, as the surnames are quite a mouthful.

Nathaniel Simon
Nathaniel David actually sounds lovely but you've ruled out David already!
Nathaniel Rowan
Nathaniel George sounds good, though I dislike George personally.
Nathaniel Francis (is that the right spelling for a boy?)
Nathaniel Luke/Lucas/Luca
Nathaniel Roland
Quite liking Nathaniel Elfred from Atticus' list. Nathaniel Edmund and Nathaniel Wilfred both nice too.

slowginny · 07/04/2012 20:22

Lord Nelson Battle of Trafalgar
give him high aspirations.

GwenGotLost · 07/04/2012 20:26

But he already has milkmaids to ravish! [bugrin] (told DP this; he LOVES it)
