It's nice, haven't heard of it before but it sounds pretty.

FondleWithCare · 22/03/2012 08:52

I agree it's a pretty name and easy enough to pronounce.

othersideofchannel · 22/03/2012 11:07

Lovely!

Stellan · 23/03/2012 12:09

Can't work out if you mean it's pronounced ay-var-nee or ah-var-nee but either way, it looks pretty and seems like a nice choice. If it is pronounced 'ah' rather than 'ay', be prepared for people to pronounce it like Ava with 'nee' on the end!

squoosh · 23/03/2012 12:24

It's nice although very close to avanti which I think means enter in Italian. Not a major quibble.

Sorry. not for me - sounds a bit 'made up' Is it a real name?
Also could be a car - Renault Avani, Chrysler Avani :)

CheshireDing · 23/03/2012 19:17

I like it for the person you have said, is it Hindu?

I read it as ah-var-nee, don't know if that's correct though.

winkle2 · 24/03/2012 12:20

It's a Hindu name meaning earth.

I'd pronounce it ahvarnee

I think its beautiful, and with a lovely meaning.

gwendolinefairfax · 25/03/2012 19:42

Beautiful name. Reminds me of Shivani.

sparkle12mar08 · 25/03/2012 20:46

It sounds beautiful on the tongue but sadly is far too close to Armani for me - which is right in the middle of the truly awful and naff category I'm afraid.
