Awful, sorry. But then I have German relations and it is a very very old fashioned, almost comical name over there these days.

DDs friend is called Heidi, its very pretty but she gets called all kinds of silly puns like Heidi sausage which gets on her nerves

Thanks for the comments its not a popular name in Scotland so its a little unusual but also familiar. we wanted an unusual name without it being something like moondust or something pretentious.

There are lots and lots of far nicer underused classic names - have a look outside the top100 or even top250 names.

I love the name Heidi - go for it! I know quite a few in their 30's but no little ones...

I quite like it though - I didn't even think of Kerry Katona & she'll be long forgotten by the time your LO starts school anyway .
