I think its really lovely, I would just go with Cassie from the start on the bc.

toomuchpink · 16/03/2012 20:16

Very nice. Wish I had thought of it myself.

OTTMummA · 16/03/2012 20:17

I didn't know the meaning, but am not that big on choosing a name for that reason. Not sure about middle names, DH suggested Mia and Alexandra.

Alexandra and Cassandra are the same name, I think (or variants of)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra

Don't know if that bothers you, especially if you just go for Cassie.

Hiya lockets! Glad you like it! Have convinced DH to have a third if this one goes well, really want a Rex of my own :-). The more I say Cassie the more I like it.

HHHmmm, hard, I quite like family names as middle names. Do you have any nice ones that fit?

Cassie Louise / Cassandra Louise are both nice.

sassytheFIRST · 16/03/2012 20:31

I've got a Cassie. Everybody loves it.

Short for Catherine, in our case.

ScorpionQueen · 16/03/2012 20:31

My best friend is a Cassie, short for Caroline. Love it.

OTTMummA · 16/03/2012 20:41

I like Lillian and renee which are family names, but DH isn't keen on those.

scarletforya · 16/03/2012 20:43

If you didn't want to use Cassandra as the longer name you could use Casilda which I think is quite pretty. I think it's spanish.

OTTMummA · 16/03/2012 20:52

I like that, I also like Calista, but DH prefers just Cassie, and I like it too, my own name is a short/nn of a classic name so it doesn't bother me.

Lockets - one of those combinations is our Cassie's name Smile

DustyDen · 16/03/2012 21:02

Cassandra Elizabeth? :)

Clandy · 16/03/2012 21:02

I like Calista but if you know you will use Cassie may as well have that as full name. Personally I don't feel the need to have a formal name just for the sake of the bc and Cassie is lovely Smile

PieMistress · 16/03/2012 21:06

It's on my girls name list - love it (although sadly think it sounds too similar to DS's name) boo :( Also quite like Cassidy (although more for a boy)

BunnyLebowski · 16/03/2012 21:08

I have a Cassie...just Cassie Smile. Middle name Rose. Cassandra is far to posh for me (and makes me think of Only Fools bint). We tend to call her Cass quite a lot.

It's a fab name. Unpretentious, girlie without being saccharine..a little bit tomboyish....suits my one to a tee!

Oh and she's named after my nan who was Catherine. But again I don't see the need for a 'formal' name.

Great choice Wink

Italiangreyhound · 17/03/2012 01:18

Cassie, love it, Cassia is lovely too.

agora1 · 17/03/2012 08:09

Cassie is a beautiful choice, and IMO, much nicer than the full names. I would go with Cassie :)

Italiangreyhound · 18/03/2012 18:57

Did you choose a middle name? Congratulations, by the way! Hope you have not got too long to go before you can give your little one her name!
