For a boy, middle name will be Christopher. Do you like -

Samuel
Sebastian
Oliver

For a girl, middle name will be May. Do you like -

Juliet
Ruby
Emma

Our surname is long and very unusual, so I like names that are simple to pronounce and spell

Samuel or Juliet.
Second choice Sebastian or Ruby.
I have an irrational dislike of Emma, and not keen on Oliver.

rachel234 · 15/03/2012 14:23

Not keen on your boys suggestions.

But I love Juliet!

I really like Emma, but might be a bit "m"y.

randomimposter · 15/03/2012 14:28

Samuel
Juliet or Ruby

SoFarWeAreEqual · 15/03/2012 17:21

Samuel - nice but dull
Sebastian - really lovely
Oliver - see Samuel above

Juliet - really pretty - the best of your girls' names
Ruby - bit popular for my tastes
Emma - classic, strong, very pretty

EdithWeston · 15/03/2012 17:26

Samuel - lovely
Sebastian - OK, but might be a bit much, given how you describe your surname
Oliver - like

Juliet -lovely
Ruby - don't really like
Emma - lovely

I like all your boy's names but think Samuel is the only one that goes well before Christopher, otherwise they are a bit long and Oliver Christopher sounds odd.

I like your girl's names apart from Ruby, but think Emma May is a bit heavy on the ems.

lou4791 · 15/03/2012 19:13

Samuel and Juliet.

mumbaisapphire · 15/03/2012 19:14

Samuel Christopher - I think this sounds the nicest.
Sebastian Christopher - two long names together - kind of works.
Oliver Christopher - I think the repeated 'er' endings mean this combo doesn't work well. I do like Oliver though, it is a nice name.

Juliet May - nice combo, works well.
Ruby May - feels like this has been done a million times before, and then of course there are the Ruby-Mae's, etc.
Emma May - say it to yourself......really? Em-ma-May. Sounds like someone stuttering. Not good.

abbypumpkin · 16/03/2012 09:36

Agree that Oliver Christopher don't go that well together. Although I love Sebastian I think having three very long names would be more sifficult than a shorter one. I love the name Sam(uel). I think Samuel sounds better and is a better option with a longer mn and surname.
I like all your girl's names also. Emma May have a bit of a repetitive 'M' sound so I think the other two work better. Ruby is the simpler of the two.

Samuel- love it
Sebastian-dislike
Oliver- there are so so many of these, 5 in one class I know of.

Juliet- not that keen but OK
Ruby- OK but very popular
Emma- love it
