Am not a huge fan in theory, but in practice I quite like other similar names...

DD1 is Saskia and other girls names i like seem to start with S and end in A, Sabrina and Serena particularly

Too similar?

Am 33 weeks - don't know the sex but think we're ok for boys names as didn't use any last time...

You'll get lots of MN-ers saying its naff, but it doesnt bother me in the slightest and I would probably not even notice!

Wouldn't raise any eyebrows with me. But I have 3 siblings who all share an initial with our mum... [leftoutemoticon]

I think you can get away with it for siblings. It's when both parents and all the DCs have the same initial that it gets a bit twee.

My sister and i have the same initial (but not 'matching' names) and before MN, it never occured to me that people had an opinion on siblings with same letter. people would sometimes get us mixed up as kids, and i put this down to having same initial, but now have 3 nieces all with very different names and they get mixed up, so it's obviously just one of those things!

We all have the same initial. (me, DP and DD) although DD goes by his middle name and almost no one knows his proper name Di he dies t really count. If we had another girl she would prob share the sane initial, just because the other name I had for DD started with the same letter! Blush but if we have a DS he defo will not have the sane initial I don't like any boys names that start with it!

DP goes by his middle name, not DD!!

My sister's name starts and ends with the same initial as mine. Never caused a problem just a slight confusion who mail
was for as we got older, but how much mail do kids get?

I've got the same initial as my DS and if i was to have another Ds the name I like also starts with the same letter, slightly dodgy territory.

I also knew a familiar who had four kids who all had the initial J, that was a bit odd.
