Does anyone like any of these names? We already have 3 DDs, and really struggling to find anything we both like. Feeling a bit :( about it - but just stressed about lots of things so probably being a bit hormonal / over-reacting. Our surname is ugly horrible, and ends in -er.

Girls names - would like to use Lily as a middle name for family connection. Too popular for a first time, and know several of them so wouldn't use as a first name ourselves.
Jemima
Megan
Molly (just realised doesn't go with Lily!)
Martha (DH choice, but I'm not keen)

Boys names -
Austin (if not first name, definite mn as family connection)
Luke
Arthur (as DD1 pointed out - Daddy likes Arthur and Martha and they sound the same....)
Dexter
Aiden (but Aids as a nn puts me off)
Caleb (DH not keen)

Please be nice....

And Arthur

I really like Jemima (esp. nn Mima). The rest of your names are all nice but I don't love any of them.

serin · 12/03/2012 20:50

Jemima and Luke are my favourites.

SoozyWoozy · 12/03/2012 20:56

I think I like Jemima best too, but worried it sounded a bit pretentious? We are by no means grand... Miss Jemima Lily makes me feel more :)

Boys names are harder than girls! Luke is our current favourite...

Jemima is lovely, I like Dexter for a boy.

FilterCoffee · 12/03/2012 21:12

Megan and Luke are my favourites from your list.

Jemima - um yes, it does sound a bit pretentious to me, sorry!
Megan - lovely, like this best, and Megan Lily would be lovely :)
Molly - too nicknamey for me, but nice as nickname for Mary
Martha - OK

How about Juliet, Jennifer, Bethany, Miranda?

Austin - like
Luke - like
Arthur - too "old man"
Dexter - too surnamey
Aiden - like, and know 3 Aidens but never heard of them being called Aids!
Caleb - OK

How about Alexander, Jonathan, Matthew, Daniel?

Megan and Luke

insertwittyusernamehere · 12/03/2012 21:56

I love Megan and Aiden. I've never heard of Aiden being shortened to Aids either, I don't think that you need to worry there.

ilovemybum · 12/03/2012 22:03

Megan and Luke :)

GreenDragonfly · 12/03/2012 22:06

Jemima and Dexter :)

FirstUpBestDressed · 12/03/2012 22:09

jemima,martha and luke

marriednotdead · 12/03/2012 22:14

Jemima is lovely. And I have a gorgeous (15 yo) Luke of my own so am obviously biased there Smile

mumofjust1 · 12/03/2012 22:21

Caleb Austin or Jemima Lily [grinSmile

Iheartpasties · 12/03/2012 22:27

I quite like Aiden because the nn can be Aiddey (do not know how you spell this to be honest, but I like the way it sounds) My DH (29) has a friend called Aiddey and he is a big strapping farmer type suits him down to the ground.

SoozyWoozy · 13/03/2012 09:16

Quite a mix of preferences :)

Naming the baby is sooooo hard! My DD1 was Evie for 3 days and then we changed it, DD2 didn't have a name for 4 days and DD3 was named as soon as she was born. Definitely preferred naming baby straight away, was much easier for the other 2 DDs.

Thanks for all the opinions!

Jemima Lilly - Ah thats just beautiful, I dont think its pretentious at all, its girly and playful. Perfect.

Dexter is fab I've always loved the name mind you it always makes me think of the character from the serial killer books/TV series haha wouldnt put me off though and i will probs have it on my list :)
Arthur is fab to - my cousin called her baby Walt, not Walter Walt and we all though...o right ok. But when he arrived it totally suited him.

Your DH has great taste! Martha and Arthur are both wonderful names, although prob not for siblings...

Saying that, I do have to admit that Jemima Lily has a lovely ring to it... even though I'm not usually a fan of Jemima (puddleduck associations), I think it's sounds sweet paired wtih Lily and lots of nice nn potential too

Don't like any of your other boys names I'm afraid but that's just me.
