My 11 year old is Iris - I love it. The only problem I have had is that I would love a ds called Morris but I can't as they rhyme!

Very cool name. I love the flower, it's the name of a great author and I know a very characterful and funny 4 year old Iris too. Yes, I approve greatly.

DH doesn't dislike it either, which is a bonus!

It will be pronounced ee-ris (not eye-ris) in many languages eg German, French etc.

I really don't like this name - ugly sounds in UK pronounciation - Eye-Riss. Think there are much nicer and more unusual names out there.

Prefer the German pronunciation of EE-riss. Agree that Eye-riss sounds less pretty.

I love Iris - its such a beautiful name, classic and a touch of old fashioned, but still can sit with a modern middle name. Arthur is cute too.
