Too similar?

We have an Oscar, and really like the name Casper. They don't sound that similar but I guess the "s" sound in the middle, and the "er" sound at the end links them. WDYT?

I think its fine. :-)

nizlopi · 10/03/2012 13:17

I think they're too similar, but they are both nice names :)

YouChangeWithTheWeather · 10/03/2012 13:18

Too similar for me. Are Cassius or Caspian too much?

Ilovedaintynuts · 10/03/2012 13:18

Too similar I think. If you were calling upstairs they would both come down!

insertwittyusernamehere · 10/03/2012 13:18

I think they're fine, not too similar.

YouChangeWithTheWeather · 10/03/2012 13:37

Would you use: Catherine and Martin, Matthew and Andrew, Isabella and Gabriella?

Badgerina · 10/03/2012 13:42

I really like Cassius, but it means empty, hollow, vain. Which is not good, obv, but when compared to the meaning of Casper BEARER OF THE TREASURE!!!! is even worse!

I think they're fine together.

mayanna123 · 10/03/2012 15:43

Definitely too similar. Try calling them both quickly Grin.

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 10/03/2012 15:47

I love both of these names, but I think they are too similar, unless one is always referred to by a nn e.g. Ozzie and Casper, Oscar and Cass.

I think they are fine together.

ElephantsAreMadeOfElements · 11/03/2012 23:35

I think they are OK. But what about Casimir?

mumnosbest · 11/03/2012 23:38

sorry too similar.

shoobidoo · 12/03/2012 15:39

Try calling Oscar and Caspar quickly - you will quickly realise that they are far too similar Grin.

CaptainHetty · 12/03/2012 15:48

They're both lovely names but I probably wouldn't use them together :)

LondonNadiy · 12/03/2012 16:06

I think they are both lovely names, and nice together, but HolyNoSheDittantBatman is right, I think you'd need to nn one or the other. Caspian is a good alternative though, I like Casimir too, but it does make me think of those woolly Russian hats. Is it even an eastern European name?

Whats the age difference? Is is going to screw up club football games when the coach calls one and the other hears or are they too far apart in age for that to be an issue?

PleaseChooseAnotherNN · 12/03/2012 16:21

I think they are fine to use together. Nice names.

exoticfruits · 12/03/2012 16:37

Too similar-just try saying them fast, together-it doesn't work.

oikopolis · 12/03/2012 17:05

i think they're too similar.

mathanxiety · 12/03/2012 17:28

Casimir is gorgeous. Popular in Poland.

I think together Oscar and Caspar are a bit of a tongue twister.
