Hi, just found out we're having a boy. We have 2 names in mind and just wanted other peoples opinions. Middle name will most probably be James and surname is Leacock.

Thanks!

I love both of these names, but slightly prefer Ellis and think it works better with your surname. I teach a couple of lovely boys called Ellis.

Theo

TheSurgeonsMate · 06/03/2012 20:21

Ellis, please

Faverolles · 06/03/2012 20:22

Theo

usualsuspect · 06/03/2012 20:22

Ellis

Belmo · 06/03/2012 20:25

Love both but Theo is my fave.

eatyourveg · 06/03/2012 20:30

Ellis definitely. Theo with your surname sounds like some footballer

BeckyBrandonNeeBloomwood · 06/03/2012 20:46

I like both and they both flow nicely with James and your surname Smile but I prefer Ellis by a long shot. I would have this on potential DS name list but I have a close friend with a son called Ellis.
Congratulations by the way Smile

I think Ellis goes better with your surname.

hellokitty123 · 06/03/2012 21:35

Ellis is much nicer and less overused than Theo.

4madboys · 06/03/2012 21:42

i like both, i have a Theo, well a theodore, he is 12 and one of the only ones his age, i think its got a lot more popular tho.

Cakestall · 06/03/2012 22:14

Theo is much nicer. It's lovely. Ellis is horrid.

welovesausagedogs · 06/03/2012 22:23

Theo is much nicer. Ellis sound a bit "chavvy".

Stellan · 07/03/2012 13:01

Theo.

I like both but I think Theo is more distinctive in the classroom amongst all the Ellies, Ellas, etc. That said, should you pick it, your son will probably end up in class with a Thea...

madaboutmadmen · 17/03/2012 21:39

Ellis every time. That's my DS's name but with one 'l', welsh spelling. From reading these threads i definitely think there'll be more Theo's around than Ellis's. Also Theo sounds like a nerd, Ellis is cool Grin, but I'm biased.

Theo is much nicer. More classic.

EdithWeston · 18/03/2012 07:36

I think they're both lovely names. My preference is for Ellis, but both are great.

exoticfruits · 18/03/2012 07:49

Theo-I don't like Ellis.

StrawberryMojito · 18/03/2012 07:58

Another vote for Theo.

madaboutmadmen · 18/03/2012 13:22

There's a comedian called Elis James (that spelling), up and coming, just so you know, lovely bloke, he's a mate of DH. Been on the tele and radio a bit, mates with Rhod Gilbert too.
