So I have trawled the top 500 and am plodding through '10000 baby names' and still have no names for dd2! Dd is evie and is my most favorite of all names ever I truely love it and feel dd2 needs a name I love Just as much. Me and dp have had a list which we add and minus names to regularly.... On Saturday we reviewed the list and he wiped off all the names :( saying he doesnt like them an neither do I to be honest. Any inspiration would be most welcomed as I have hit a brick wall and would love some fresh ideas! Manu thanks

Rosa
Holly

The two girls names I love more than any other, but I cannot use either because of surname Sad

bytheMoonlight · 05/03/2012 21:10

Charlotte
Tessa
Jessica

The names I love and can use.

I do like rosa ESP with nickname Rosie but dp says Rosie sounds a bit soppy and rosa sounds Spanish and I'm not a fan of rose as think a 2 syllable name sounds better with our surname which is 2 syllables starting with h, Which is why holly is out as not keep on h sound for both names. Love ruby but dp says that's out as rhymes with boobie Grin

Like charlotte and Tessa but not love!

Thanks for your posts

I think I have come to the conclusion that it is not me that cannot think of a name it is dp! I could have named 7 girls by now if it wasn't for him Smile think I will give him a list with my suggestions (thanks for all the ideas some good ones!) and he can choose one or come up with something better himself.....

You've mentioned you like Rose but not enough syllables? How about Rosalie, Rosalena (although dp may sound a bit Spanish again!)or Rosemary.
Could call her Rose for short if you like that?

BeckyBrandonNeeBloomwood · 06/03/2012 19:27

Sorry I meant Rosie where I said Rose, doh!

BorderDancer · 06/03/2012 19:29

LOVE Romilly- she can use Millie or Romy

Mary is my other favourite as is Nell (can you guess my daughter's name?!) and my friend has an Edie which she gets lots of compliments on. The older names are becoming more popular. DD's suggestion is Laura. That's what she wants to be called. Or Lara.

Stellan · 06/03/2012 20:14

Do you have any requirements or preferences for naming this child? Do you like traditional names? Cute names? Biblical names? I know you like the name Evie, having chosen it for your daughter - do you want another nicknamey name? If you could share some information on your naming style (even if it's just names you've definitely ruled out), that might help us to come up with some suitable suggestions.

Clandy · 07/03/2012 19:53

Seeing as you asked stellen..... Grin

I like cute names and not bothered either way about nicknamey names I like some and not others, don't feel like I need a 'full name' for birth certificate though. Like names that have a possible nickname as mine doesn't and I always wanted one!!

Names I like include Imogen, Callie, ruby, annabelle, Rosie, isla, Amelie, Amelia and Emma although these have all been "ruled out" by dp

Can't have olivia, grace, Charlotte or Isabelle as names in close family.

Would like 2 or more syllables. As a general rule it needs to be a name and not a thing (ignore ruby and rose)

Any suggestions more than welcome Smile
