A friend who is expecting a baby in May was asking me if I knew any names with particularly good meanings. I don't even know the meanings of my own kids names!!!
Any ideas? Boys and girls names please. She doesn't know what she's having .

Sharon means beloved, Peter means solid/dependable.
There are lots of biblical and Jewish names with nice meanings.

I think there's a MN names database somewhere on the website that has meanings.

Isaac means 'he will laugh' in the Bible. I've always thought it a lovely name because of the meaning - what more could you want for your child than to be happy!

Felix - means happy/lucky. As does Saeed/Sayed.

Beatrice means 'bringer of joy'

Felicity also means happy.
Lucy means light/bright

A lot of names with clear meanings are derived from Latin or Greek words. There must be many websited dedicated to lists of names and their derivation.

Your friend could also name her child based on the month he/she was born e.g. May = fifth month so for example Quentin is derived from Latin for fifth. Or the name could refer to the season or country/place where he/she was conceived.
