If dc2 turns out to be a boy we are settled on Zachary but will use 'zack' in day to day life.

How would you spell it....zac, zack or another variation?

Zac's been quite popular down here (being short for Isaac as well as for Zachary) and I know quite a few but they all do seem to shorten differently. I would probably do "Zac" but I know at least one of the mum's prefer Zack.

I like the name Zachary, and would probably use Zak for short. Zack and Zac are like sack and sac.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 27/02/2012 10:04

The one I know is a Zach.

4madboys · 27/02/2012 10:05

The Zach I know goes by Zach (not sure if his full name is Zachary or Zacharias). I'm not keen on Zach, it sounds unfinished and harsh (and reminds me of a sack), but it is your baby and if you love it, that's all that matters.

jellybeans · 27/02/2012 11:52

I like it and prefer Zac. Zak OK too but harsher. Zach looks phonetically as Zachhh.

CPtart · 27/02/2012 12:53

Zachary lovely, shorten to Zac.

sonniebonnie · 27/02/2012 13:21

Zachary is nice but I really don't like the sound of Zac/Zak - it sounds unfinished and indeed like sack.

HoldTouchEngage · 27/02/2012 14:38

I love Zachariah too

ANyway back to your question, we have a Zach in our family - wasn't sure at first but i love the spelling now - seen as though Zachary has an h in and not a k - it seems rather fitting!
