which boy's names do you think go well with Isabelle (our DD)

Ferdinand, Mortimer, Henry, Angus, Alastair, Benedict, Frederick, Peter, Edmund, Dominic?

cuppaneeded · 25/02/2012 15:02

wow Edith, several on your list have been through my head. I like all of them bar Ferdinand which reminds me of that wet character in the Tempest.

ooh I had lots of girls names ready to go with Isabel. (was going to say Alice would be lovely!)

David, Hamish, Struan

poshlaydeehonestguv · 25/02/2012 15:04

Thomas. But then I would say that :)

giraffes... Alice is my DH's fave choice if we have a girl.
How do you all feel about Leo? Boy's names are SO hard!

I always think of Ferdinand with Isabel because of the monarchs of Castile and Aragon. I think it usually gets a luke-warm MN response because of the footballer (but that will pass!)

MarjorieAntrobus · 25/02/2012 15:05

David. But then I would say that! :)

I love names...!

I had daughters, but, if I'd had a son, some of the (more unusual) names on my list were:

Louis
Toby/Tobias
Jacob/Jake
Joel
Jared
Jed
Benedict
Oliver
Elias
Sebastian
Nathaniel
Fabian...am I getting too flouncy now?

(I have many more, but so does a baby names book!)

OK, to throw a spanner in the works...why does it matter actually. Your daughter will not ,name-wise, be attached to your son in any way - apart from being his sibling.

She will eventually, and in all likelihood, meet a partner and either keeper her own name, or take her partner's one.

Why does it matter what her sibling's name is >???

diddl · 26/02/2012 13:30

OP-Leo is fantastic.

gazzalw · 26/02/2012 13:38

Yes would go with another vowel-starting name - think Isabel and Alexander/Adrian/Adam, Isabel and Oliver/Oscar, Isabel and Edward/Edmund - that type of thing.....

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 26/02/2012 13:47

Isabelle and Arthur

BikeRunSki · 26/02/2012 13:54
