Like it / not like it?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nearlymumofone · 24/02/2012 18:17

weirdly i like it for a girl but maybe that's just wrong!

Montsti · 24/02/2012 18:45

Not keen, I'm afraid..

FilterCoffee · 24/02/2012 19:12

Sorry, not keen.

SparkySparrow · 24/02/2012 19:17

I don't like it either sorry

nothing to do with the fact that I have a ex called that. He was a t*

bruffin · 24/02/2012 19:21

It's my grandad's name and I sometimes wish I had given it to DS as a middle name. I have come across a few Russells of all ages and it does seem to be quite timeless.

DialMforMummy · 24/02/2012 19:44

Don't like it.

shoots · 24/02/2012 20:09

Aww my DH is called Russell! I like Russ which is what he usually gets. Russell has never seemed to be a popular name but isn't probably a name I'd have a strong opinion about if it wasn't for DH Smile

RunnerHasbeen · 24/02/2012 20:11

I really like it, I like the NN Rusty but can't use it as our surname is an object that could get kind of rusty.

VickityBoo · 24/02/2012 20:14

Afraid I don't like it. Doesn't help that I think of Russell Rabbit food when I hear it...

vitaminC · 24/02/2012 20:21

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I actually like Russell :)

Not sure why. It makes me think of nature - leaves rustling and the French word 'ruisselle' which would refer to a stream trickling :)

And it's one of those classic names that has always been around, but never trendy and overused!

AThingInYourLife · 24/02/2012 20:23

Horrible

pchick · 24/02/2012 20:24

I think it's great. Unusual, but not strange.

MrsEricBana · 24/02/2012 20:28

Noooo (though I do have a soft spot for Russells Watson and Crowe!)

BabyTeeth · 24/02/2012 21:12

I like it. The Russells I know tend to be clever and stylish. Apart from Russ Abbot of course Grin

Sittinginthesun · 24/02/2012 21:15

Fraid not - knew a very weird man called Russell, and my sister has two exes of that name.

NoMoreCakeOclock · 24/02/2012 21:24

Don't like it at all. Sorry.

Tirana · 24/02/2012 21:48

No not good in my opinion, has the same vibe as Nigel.

redrubyshoes · 24/02/2012 21:57

Dated but not in a retro way. I lump it in with Trevor, Gary and Gavin.

tammytoby · 25/02/2012 07:27

Maybe not trendy or fashionable currently but still a classic timeless name. More interesting than many currently trendy names IMO.

Purplehonesty · 25/02/2012 08:33

Hmm be neither. Russel crackle swish is what came to mind from one of ds's books.

Purplehonesty · 25/02/2012 08:34

Sorry missed out an L
