ill-i-anna
or ill-e-yana

hazelnutlatte · 21/02/2012 13:24

Are you sure it's not Lilianna?

HillyWallaby · 21/02/2012 13:25

well it certainly would not be Elle e anna, as an I is never pronounced as an E in any language I know. Confused

I would say it as Ill - ee - arna although it could be anna rather than arna.

jaffacakehips · 21/02/2012 13:26

Thanks nickel but still total confused..Grin

ruddynorah · 21/02/2012 13:28

i knew an Illiana from Bulgaria

she pronounced it "eel-ee-yana", with no emphasis on any particular syllable

oikopolis · 21/02/2012 15:47

ill-ee-anna

It's a variant of Helen I think. I know a Mexican lady with this name. There's also a Romanian princess Ileana, which is pronounced the same way.

SoupDragon · 21/02/2012 15:50

Illy Arna or Illy Anna would be my guesses.

Frikadellen · 21/02/2012 16:04

the Illianna I know pronounces it Illie Arnah (long last sound) I love it as a name.

MustControlFistOfDeath · 21/02/2012 16:12

I would pronounce eel-ee-yana (DP is from Eastern Europe).

If the family have no links there then I suppose ill--ee-anna.

welovesausagedogs · 21/02/2012 16:23

I think you pronounce it Ilana, or illianna, like lilliana but without the l

PineCones · 21/02/2012 23:33

not confusing Hmm
