Hi - need some suggestions, please.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with our first child and we have definitely decided on Maria (Scottish husband, I'm Portuguese) because both my grandmothers were called Maria, we're Catholic and I love the name.

We are however struggling with a middle name and I'm open to British / Scottish or Continental options. Any ideas?

I think it needs to be either very short or very long

Thanks everyone. I'm liking Maria Francisca at the moment (Portuguese spelling), but find it really hard to fall in love with any combination at the moment.

I guess the name Maria lends itself more to being standalone or a middle name? Doesn't help that DH vetoes just about everything sigh

Maria is such a beautiful (and unusual now) name that it can stand alone,but Maria Elena is lovely.
