Am I living in a dreamworld to even be considering this name? Is it too Dukes of Hazzard? I just really like it and would really appreciate your opinions/reality check as I fear I am losing the plot a little bit. We're having a boy and finding names we both like is proving somewhat tricky (understatement).

Yep, my first thought was of the stupid person from Dukes of Hazzard.

Why do you like the name or are you just trying to find something "unusual"/unique ?

Robert is unsual these days and Rob or Robbie are nice short versions.

Thanks whoknowsme, I think you're right! I just wasn't sure if people would remember or not.
It doesn't have to be unique name, it's just that we can't agree on anything, although oddly, we do both quite like Robin, which is very close to your suggestions and is a nickname for Robert, so I think you're on to a winner there!

I don't normally like unusual names, but I really like this.

I have never seen the Dukes of Hazzard, is the association really bad then?

I know a baby Rosco, and initially we thought Dukes of Hazard. Now we just think of the baby, so if you like it you should probably go for it.

I have never watched it! It was a bit before my time really. I have heard of it, and know there is a car which screeches as it goes round corners, but I have no idea what goes on in it. The blokesi n that car could be undercover coppers for all I know. Grin

I really like it but it does make me want to shout ROSCOE P COLTRANE in a deep south american accent Grin.

You could call any future kids, Daisy and Duke or Boss Hogg Grin.

Yes to the Dukes of Hazzard but it was a programme that always made me smile.
I think still go for it, it's a great name and unusual without being too try hard. Better than Robin or Ross.

I quite like it, but also haven't seen Dukes of Hazzard so couldn't comment on that. What about Rocco?

Thanks everyone, i do appreciate your comments as I didn't have a clue. And thank you for saying that you like it GetOrf, Scotof and iseenodust. I appreciate it. I am rather worried about the Dukes of Hazzard but I do just love the name anyway. DP likes it too but was worried. Cheers.

I actually really like it. Reminds me of the Midlake song. In fact, DS1 could have been a Roscoe as Inlistened to Midlake all the way through 1st pregnancy.
