Any opinions? Good/bad and ugly!

Too serial killer ish.

Bellaholland · 14/02/2012 08:59

That doesn't bother me, I live in holland so that association wouldn't be made. I also had not heard of him.

Yes...people here will make the Peter Tobin connection.

Marrow · 14/02/2012 09:01

Yep immediately thought serial killer and it was also the name
of a nasty character in the lawyer series with Glenn Close!

tummytickler · 14/02/2012 09:17

Peter Tobin serial killer

Bellaholland · 14/02/2012 09:21

Ok! I have been put off! Yuck. I would spend my life thinking of him! Oh well!

Could you use Toby or Tobias?

Positiveplus · 14/02/2012 09:23

Not keen - prefer Toby / Tobias.

pictish · 14/02/2012 09:23

I can see where you're coming from though...

How about Torrin instead?

Salteena · 14/02/2012 09:24

'Tobin Tax' is what sprang to my mind immediately - hadn't heard of the serial killer connection!

Charlotteperkins · 14/02/2012 09:28

Or there's Torrlin

bleedingheart · 14/02/2012 09:32

Tobin Tax/Peter Tobin/Damages came into my head straight away. I also think he'd be on the phone a lot saying 'No, not Toby, TobIN'

Sorry

ragged · 14/02/2012 09:33

Poncetastic.

Bellaholland · 14/02/2012 09:34

We don't like Tobias but do like Toby but I am less keen than husband.

TunipTheVegemal · 14/02/2012 09:35

please don't. There are too many people around who will have known one of Tobin's victims.

Bellaholland · 14/02/2012 09:41

It's ok I am off it!

I rather like it and Peter Tobin wasn't the first thing that sprang to mind. I think if you're not UK based it's a really strong, distinctive name. Tobias is also very European sounding and classic.
