Names for twon girls?

I'm Irish, DH is from half Spanish/half Trinidadian. We live in London.

2 DC already - wont give away names, as don't want to out myself, but they are both Biblical (with Irish middle names). I don't care if the names aren't matchy-matchy, but obviously it would be nice if they didn't sound totally odd together.

I'd quite like to go for Irish first names this time, but also have some non-Irish names and Spanish names we both like. Long list, hoping to narrow it down soon!

Saoirse
Sorcha
Aoibheann
Aoife
Niamh
Caoimhe (would go for the Keeva pronunciation rather than Kweeva - more common in my part of Ireland)
Ita
Maeve / Meabh (think I would go with the modern Irish spelling)
Mary
Maria
Grace
Leila
Leah or Lia
Etta
Nina
Sadie
Rose (possibly Rosa or Rosita, which I know is a diminutive, but I like and is DH's granny's name)
Estrella
Graciela
Francesca

Opinions, good combinations, suggestions welcome!

Amazing names!

From your list, I like:

Sorcha Rose and Maeve Graciella
or Etta and Grace

I think a one syllable name for a one and a 2 syllable name fr the other really rolls of the tongue nicely when you say them together...

Estrella Maeve and Rosita Grace

Francesca and Sadie/ Rosita

agree with flossie that you need to limit the number of syllables. Love Sorcha, Grace, Rose, Estrella... you just need to think about how they roll off the tongue when you say them together... Sorcha and Rose (or Grace) sound nice to me.

Aoife Graciella and Francesca Mary

saintmerryweather · 12/02/2012 16:58

Aoife Grace and Francesca Rose imo.

You need to sit down and write the names out to see how they flow with your other kids. It took me ages to find names that all went together with my 2nd set of twins. Good luck

I love Sorcha

Caoimhe and Francesca are lovely too. Graciella is nice - and different too.

Hoe do you say Aoibheann?

I think I'd go with Sorcha Mary and Caoimhe Rose for a more Irish feel or Francesca Maeve and Graciela Niamh to focus on the more Spanish.

First names:

Etta and Grace from the non-Irish names

Niamh and Aoife from the Irish

Rosa and Graciela from the Spanish

Combinations:

Niamh Rose and Aoife Grace/Graciela?

Etta Maeve and Grace Aoife?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/02/2012 18:52

Love Niamh and Maeve but probably wouldn't use them together. Not fond of any of the others. Really don't like Graciela.
