Love the name Lydia but our surname is a well known Irish name beginning with L is it a no go?

If it's Lynch then no. Lydia Lynch sounds like a character from Horrible Histories who hangs people while looking quite buxom. Anything else should be fine.

I don't think it should be a problem. I don't have a problem with Lydia Lynch either!

Course it's not a No Go flopsy (although Flopsy's a great name too! )

Double letter initials are supposed to be a good thing - don't know why. But so long as the two names don't sound odd rolled together, go for it.

Being honest I wouldn't go for Lydia Lynch. It's not just L L it's Ly Ly - bit too matchy matchy for me.

I just dont like alliteration with names at all so would be a no no for me, sorry!

Probably a no go I'm afraid. What other names do you like? How about Julia, Sadie, Naomi, Bethany?
