Yay or Nay?

What do you think?

ElectricSoftParade · 02/02/2012 21:22

Nay, unless you really like it.

SeaweedNK · 02/02/2012 21:24

Makes me think of cream crackers and ribena...

DialMforMummy · 02/02/2012 21:26

Nay. Too try hard.

ReneeVivien · 02/02/2012 21:28

Nay, I'm afraid. Jacinta better.

redrubyshoes · 02/02/2012 21:29

Errm no. Makes me think of a wholegrain savoury biscuit or an order of nuns.

She would also be called Jackie as a nn which is a name that is beyond awful IMO.

But if you really, really love it then.......

NO!

AgathaPinchBottom · 02/02/2012 21:32

Hmmm. I quite like bean as a nickname.

ohbugrit · 02/02/2012 21:34

Oh dear God no. ..

redrubyshoes · 02/02/2012 21:41

I thought Bean as a nn as well. Double no on that account.

hohohoshedittant · 02/02/2012 22:22

No.

I think Jacobi (nn Cobi) is better if you require a girly version of Jacob, but that's also horrible.

PopcornBiscuit · 02/02/2012 22:52

I like it.

LizzieChickens · 03/02/2012 00:26

Not to my taste, no. Kind of like... Fredina or Jackina.

JasperJohns · 03/02/2012 00:37

Is it made up? It sounds it.

No.

No!

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 03/02/2012 03:30

NO.

AnEcumenicalMatter · 03/02/2012 05:03

Awful.

FairyArmadillo · 03/02/2012 05:20

No. Please, no.

JuluLu · 03/02/2012 05:50

Anything that could possibly be shortened to "Bean" should be avoided at all costs, IMO. It smacks of "we named our baby after the twee nickname we used for the bump".

Vom.

ninedragons · 03/02/2012 06:17

Definitely a no, I'm afraid.

Some feminised male names are great (Philippa was high on our list) but some just sound like the parents thought the baby was going to be a boy, had a surprise in the delivery room, and couldn't be arsed to think of a girl's name.

Or worse, that they desperately wanted a boy and were disappointed with their girl.

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 03/02/2012 15:11

My friend has a DD with a middle name Jacoba after her south african grandmother - I think it's marvellous!

seeker · 03/02/2012 15:12

Ghastly. And it makes it look as if you wanted a boy and didn't have a girl's name ready.

lisaro · 03/02/2012 15:13

Absolutely hideous 'name'. Please don't.

Janoschi · 03/02/2012 15:24

Love it. There are some graves in Warriston Cemetery in Edinburgh with names like that. Duncana was one I recall, Robina and Jamesina.... All Victorian and suggesting major gender disappointments at birth!

But I really do like Jacobina. Binny is a sweet nickname.

HappyHoppyHippy · 03/02/2012 15:25

Nooooooo

B52s · 03/02/2012 15:38

Jacoby is fine, Jacobina is awful. IMVHO

Abcinthia · 03/02/2012 15:40

No, sorry.

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 03/02/2012 15:45

Nooooo.

Thomasina is the ONLY one which is good.

The others - ffs why don't you just call her John William and be done with it.
