Florence or Felicity?

Thought I would start another thread going (don't mean to be greedy ), the other thread got me thinking. As it says really, which do you prefer. Thankyou

Florence. Really don't like Felicity.

I'm old, Florence lives in a garden with a shaggy sugar eating dog, a crazy snail and a roundabout.

I like Felicity, but i LOVE Florence with the nickname Flo

God, another Florence....! Does the world really need another one?!

My stepbrother's gf is called Felicity, she goes by Felix which I think is a fun nn...

Only joking they are both nice. I prefer Felicity, but Florence is fine ( except I need auto correct to spell it)

Agree that Florence is becoming VERY popular round here.... Maybe Felicity will remain a little more timeless and classic.

Florence is much more popular and I really dont like 'Flo' as a nn (reminds me Andy Capp!)

Not a great fan of either but if I had to pick I'd go for Felicity with Flick or Fliss as nn.

I like both but Florence is really becoming popular whereas Felicity is probably quite unusual these days, although it was everywhere in the 70s. I would go Felicity simply because Florence is going to be the next Lily I suspect.

There are SO many baby Florences here these days... I agree it is becoming very trendy and may therefore date more than a more classic name like Felicity (which is lovely!).

The other problem with Florence is the lack of nice nicknames - Flo, Florrie, Flic, Flac are all awful imo, I'm afraid.

I agree that Florence is becoming very "trendy" but, it is still classic, my husbands grandmother and great grandmother were both called Florence.

They're both horrible. Mind you that may be because I had an unpleasant great aunt called Florence, and I never could stand smug simpering Felicity Kendall.

Used to love Florence, so glad I wasn't able to use it. Its everywhere now and I am slightly bored of hearing it. I would go with the more refreshing sounding Felicity
