Belle Names

I really like Annabel as a name for dd3 - if we ever have a dd3 (mere details), but it is a little close to Amelia I think which is dd1.

What other names ending in bel/belle are there? I love Isobel but know a couple and I like Mirabel I think but not sure.

Any ideas?

I can't see an issue with naming two siblings Annabel and Amelia. If you had said Amabel / Amabelle (two variants of Annabelle) now that wouldn't work either IMO as the first two letters match with Amelia.

I once met a woman called Belladonna :o

BillyBollyBandy · 30/01/2012 18:12

I like Clarabel but always think of that bloomin lump on Mickey Mouse, dammit. I don't think everyone is taking me seriously Grin
Although poor Belladonna - was it hyphenated I wonder

I hadn't heard of half of those popcorn! Thank you for the ideas everyone!

What do other people think of Annabel and Amelia? We have a Claudia in the middle.

I think Annabel and Amelia are quite different. Should not be a problem. Especially if Annabel would be called Anna or Belle as a nn. If you love it go for it!

HeidiHole · 30/01/2012 18:25

I think Annabel and Amelia are absolutely perfectly 100% fine for siblings they don't seem too similar at all.

CheerfulYank · 30/01/2012 18:41

I love, love, love Rosabel or Rosabelle, with Rosie as a nn. So pretty and underused IMO.

manicinsomniac · 31/01/2012 09:00

I think Annabel and Amelia work fine. Plus, it's only one set of school nametapes!

I googled and came up with these (not quite convinced they're all names but apparently they are!):
Abelle, Adorabelle, Amabelle, Anabelle, Annabelle, Arabelle, Arbelle, Belle, Bonnibelle, Carabelle, Christabelle, Clarabelle, Claribelle, Corabelle, Dulcibelle, Isabelle, Isobel, Fransabelle, Jezebelle, Jobelle, Kristabelle, Lorabelle, Loribelle, Mabel, Maybelle, Maribelle, Marybelle, Meribelle, Mehitabelle, Melibelle, Orabelle, Robelle, Rosibelle, Sabelle, Sybelle, Willabelle, Williebelle (!!)Ysabelle.

bloombloombell · 31/01/2012 10:52

hahaha, Williebelle indeed, can you imagine being called that! I think Annabel goes nicely with Amelia. I also like Clarabel. However i think im biased as my daughter id Annabelle Clara x

meditrina · 31/01/2012 10:54

Claribel is one of Thomas' coaches, isn't she?

mumatron · 31/01/2012 11:10

adorabelle really?

The names sound fine together OP.

BillyBollyBandy · 31/01/2012 21:46

Thank you manic for your research!

Not sure I would saddle a baby with Jezebelle, although as DH flinched at the lovely name Lola I can't see him going for it Grin

I'm glad the general opinion is Annabel sounds fine with Amelia, it's such a pretty name

Real American Gothic name. Love it.

sunshinejanuary · 31/01/2012 23:37

Orabelle - sounds like a porn name!!

PastGrace · 31/01/2012 23:41

I think Annabel and Amelia are lovely together.

I know a Belinda, nn Belle - I know you want one that ends in Belle, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

awomenscorned · 31/01/2012 23:42

belle seems to be rising rapidly.
