Lovely name. I know 2 Athenas, both adults, both with some Greek in the family though.

At first I was a bit about Athena but now I LOVE it.

We pronounced a-THEE-nah which is imo the correct way to pronounced it.

Oh, love love LOVE! DH thinks I'm nuts though to like this name (wanted it if DC1 had been a daughter). I think it's a rather nickname free name though - not sure I'd use one.

It is a nice name but tbh my first thoughts were the same as choufleur's above. However, no-one in her peer group will think of that so it probably doesn't matter....if you like it, go for it!

I know an Athena (a young adult). She is lovely, and the name suits her (she's very pretty). She's never made me think of posters.

I like Athena, it's a nice strong name. Also Athene - pron Ath-ee-nee.
