Help me with a name for a possible third boy

I have two boys called Felix and Theodore and am expecting in September - obviously it's too early to know the sex of this baby yet but I'd like to get started on a fabulous name should it be a third boy.

Which of these boys' names do you like best?

Reuben (my current fave) - he would be Reuben Christopher

Owen - a little bland? Love it but I'd like something a bit sparkier.

Sebastian (endemically popular where I live)

Inigo (yes I know about The Princess Bride and I don't care). Nickname would be Iggy.

Christopher - nickname Kit (Christopher is my father's name but he goes by Chris).

Dominic - nickname Dom.

Do you have any feedback on these and some more suggestions?

Thank you

I love Reuben too!

rachel234 · 10/01/2012 10:23

Love Inigo and Christopher.

Littlecherublegs · 10/01/2012 10:25

Of those you have listed, Dominic is my fav.
I like Sebastian too.

How about:
Nathaniel
Benedict
Conrad
Elijah

??

Mollydoggerson · 10/01/2012 10:28

I would prefer Ignatius (sp) to Inigo. I like your names Christopher and Dominic are my favs, I really like them. Kit is so cute.

Eglu · 10/01/2012 10:28

Inigo is great. What about Austin?

Montsti · 10/01/2012 10:49

Love Sebastian and also like Dominic a lot. Not keen on the others though..

JestersHat · 10/01/2012 10:55

Sebastian would be the obvious choice - it's the same style as the other two. But maybe a little "safe" for being so obvious IYSWIM.

Christoper is nice but I don't like Kit.

Dominic is nice too; Reuben and Owen are OK. Inigo is too try-hard trendy.

I'd go for Dominic Sebastian, or Dominic Reuben.

emmyloo2 · 10/01/2012 11:23

I don't really like Sebastian and I don't think it is as nice as your two existing names, which are both utterly fabulous by the way.

Reuben is nice. I love Owen as it is my nephew's name but not sure it "goes" with Felix and Theodore. Christopher is nice but safe. Kit is fab though.

Dominic is really nice. What about Xavier? Or Arlo? Fergus?

rachel234 · 10/01/2012 13:52

I also don't like Sebastian, especially the short form Seb/Sebbie (reminds me of sebacious). Inigo, Kit and Reuben go better with Theo and Felix. Or how about Stanley, Quentin or Ronan?

Prunella79 · 10/01/2012 14:15

love inigo... leads me to cosmo, ismay, ludo?
or maybe christophe nn kit

Prunella79 · 10/01/2012 14:16

... i forgot henry nn H

Felix is Latin origin - happy
Theodore is Greek origin.

What makes a triad? An Arabic name? Another Latin or Greek name? A classic Egyptian name?

I guess a lot of English names are being suggested because of the classics/OXbridge/Brideshead Revisited vibe.

AWimbaWay · 10/01/2012 14:26

I like Reuben and Christopher, but not keen on Kit.

Rowan, Arlo or Max?

angelintraining · 10/01/2012 14:33

i think all your segestions are good, to go with theo & felix - seb goes best.

i think Roman or Alvin will also go ok with theo and felix x

FootprintsInTheSnow · 10/01/2012 14:34

I've got it! You need an old testament name for a classical civilisations hat-trick.

Felix and Theodore brothers of...

Benjamin
Daniel
Ephraim
Abraham
Reuben
Ezekiel

Or New testament:

John
James
Etc.

Haribojoe · 10/01/2012 14:36

Have always loved Reuben, have been toying with Sebastian for DC4 (have already got 3DS so it's getting harder to come up with names!)

squeak2392 · 10/01/2012 17:35

Reuben and Sebastian go best with Felix and Theodore.

I just nearly wrote Felix and Arthur, so that could be an option :p

timetoask · 10/01/2012 17:38

I LOVE the name Reuben. I'd go for that one.

persephoneplum · 12/01/2012 07:01

Thank you all for your help! I think Reuben will be the one if I can convince my husband... he couldn't come up with a better name for our last boy (Theodore) so I doubt he'll be able to for this either, if a boy. We've got a while to refine the list before we have to name this kid in early September.

Reuben - not over fond

Owen - okay; makes me think of Wilfred

Sebastian - I like it

Inigo - I think it's lovely but not Iggy

Christopher - nickname Kit - lovely

Dominic - don't like it

Offspring · 13/01/2012 06:52

I like Reuben best of your list too. Throwing Alexander in the suggestion box.

LiviaAugusta · 13/01/2012 20:35

Nothing bland about Owen, but others are right that maybe it doesn't fit with your other DS's names. Maybe Rowan or Roman? Love Reuben too.

BettyBedlam · 15/01/2012 12:38

How about keeping the f/th sound going with

Arthur
Alfie
Freddie
Finlay
Ferdie (sp?) ?

BokkleofSterra · 15/01/2012 20:49

Ewart

upthealdi · 22/01/2012 22:40

Isn't Kit and Felix a bit, um, feline?Grin
