Hello - I am struggling to find girls names I like. I have been coming back to Rosalie and Romilly, but also thinking about Rosa.

Could anyone offer any suggestions or other names in a similar style?

Thanks :)

Ooh, and Rosamund.

IHeartKingThistle · 04/01/2012 18:48

I love all these - DS was going to be Rosa! With the longer ones, bear in mind lots of people with these names shorten them to Ros or Roz. Don't know if that would make a difference to you but it's not a nn I like particularly.

Can I throw Coralie into the mix?

mungojerrie · 04/01/2012 18:56

Thanks greenmoo - there's a few more there I quite like.
Iheart - I don't like nn Roz either - would have to make sure a Rosy type nickname was in place from an early age! Would you pronounce Coralie Cora-lee or Corralee.... I like the look of it!

Both nice names. Prefer Rosa to the other two, but they are nice, too.

I know a little Coralie (Corra-lee).

IHeartKingThistle · 04/01/2012 19:28

The one I know is COrralee. I love it, it just rolls off the tongue.

greenmoo · 04/01/2012 19:49

Other names ending in 'ie': Elodie and Eulalie.

SucksToBeMe · 04/01/2012 19:51

Very popular within the travelling community. It has a lovely ring to it.

My great great grandmother was called Rosina. I've always like that. But had all boys.

ChippyMinton · 04/01/2012 19:58

Romy

BehindLockNumberNine · 04/01/2012 20:00

I am not too keen on Rosa (middle aged Italian woman springs to mind). I love both Rosalie and Romilly - prefer Romilly out of these.
But, I absolutely LOVE Coralie and wish it had popped up when I was pregnant with dd (Emily)

Wonder if at age nine it is still acceptable to change a child's name....

Kayzr · 04/01/2012 20:01

I love Rosalie. It's what we're calling DC3 if they're a girl.

reup · 04/01/2012 20:04

Rosa always reminds me of Rosa luxemburg and I just looked up her full name which was rosalia according to wiki.

pranma · 04/01/2012 21:32

I love Rosamund [rose of the world]

zumm · 04/01/2012 21:41

mathanxiety · 04/01/2012 21:51

Rosalie and Roisin are sooo lovely.

Coralie is my go-to suggestion for just about everyone looking for a girl's name! It's so pretty & Cora is such a cool nn.

I also love love love plain old Rose. Classic, understated, just gorge.

Merlion · 05/01/2012 04:04

I have a 7 month old Rosina. It is my Grandma's middle name.

bobbledunk · 05/01/2012 06:07

I love the name Rosalie.

ceebie · 05/01/2012 12:50
